England Midfield

Featured Replies

With the game on Wednesday it looks like the two in the middle for England will be Saint Steven and Barry And i was just wondering who would you have in the middle (doesn't have two be a flat 442, any formation).

I'm wondering because watching SSN and reading articles on the web it seems that Gerrard's place isn't in doubt and after his performances towards the end of the qualification for Euro 08 i thought he might have it more difficult - obviously not icon_rolleyes.gif

Having read somewhere that Cappello favours a 4-2-3-1 style, I think England's best team (when everyone is fit) might be something along the lines of:

....................decent keeper........................

Richards........JT.............Rio..........Cole/Bridge

..................Lamps.......Barry.......................

SWP............Gerrard/Rooney...................Cole

.....................decent striker......................

Seeing as Agbonlahor, Young and Bentley are all int the squad. I get the feeling we might see England play with something resembling a 4-3-3 or some other formation that makes use of wingers.
