Not sure if this game was televised south of the border so thought I would provide a little detail for the Gers followers.

Rangers were excellent tonight and the only thing they will be gutted about is that didn't kill the tie by scoring a third. Both their goals were gifted by the keeper (Wiese) but Rangers fully deserved to win by at least that margin. IN particular Cousin and Dailly were superb however to be honest every one of the Rangers players played very well and the likes of Diego barely got a kick.

In the dying minutes McCulloch should have made it 3-0 as he was yards from the goal and a super tackle from behind prevented the ball rolling in the net however I don't think McCulloch realised the defender was there as he didn't really make a major effort to force the ball in - it looked like he thought it was going to roll in so he didn't make the effort. Just hope that doesn't come back to haunt them.

That is Rangers through. Lost 1-0 in Germany but go through 2-1 on aggregate. Very much a rearguard action display and Bremen will be wondering how on earth they only scored one. They had something ridiculous like 34 shots on goal to Rangers 4 and really did give Rangers a pumelling. Cuellar and McGregor were superb. In last five minutes Bremen had a chance from all of 5 yards out, a total sitter and McGregor somehow got across his goal, got a hand to it and pushed it onto the underside of the bar.

After being anonymous at Ibrox Diego was very good tonight and scored a cracking goal.

Rangers are beginning to fancy their chances of a league and UEFA cup double.
