Anyone got any thoughts on how the next major tournaments could play out? Some of my thoughts:

- The United States will come into the next World Cup with the most pressure it's ever had to succeed, and fail to get out of a tame group.

- People will wonder why Ronaldo is the skipper of Portugal.

- England will do nothing substantial in Euros or Brazil

- Spain, Germany, and Brazil will enter Brazil as favorites (really going out on a limb here :laugh2: )

- Belgium is my dark horse, shame they have a tough draw for Euro 2012. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgium_national_football_team#Current_squad

Looking into the crystal ball? I'll give it a shot.

- Brazil will NOT win the 2014 World Cup at home. Early money is on Germany.

- Euro 2012 will be interesting, I think you'll see another good show from Turkey.

- England will be strong for Euro 2012 with mostly their current squad, but will go very young for the 2014 World Cup.

- Argentina will play Germany in the knockout round in the 2014 World Cup to make it three times in a row. And will lose three times in a row.

- The USA will make at least the quarters of the 2014 World Cup.

- Goal line technology will be in place but will be mostly worthless since it's really extra refs that's needed.

- Adidas will use a different ball again. :laugh2:

Regarding Turkey, it will be interesting to see who gets runner-up in their group for Euros, since I'd assume Germany would win it. Turkey and Belgium? Belgium has some pretty promising youth players, so if these guys end up developing into solid players, I think they'd be a good squad.

Vermealen, Kompany, Fellaini, Defour, Witsel, Hazard, Luakaku, Dembele (I remember when we were rumoured to be interested in him). If those players that are still in Belgium can get transfers to a bigger league and improve their game, I'd be excited to see how they turn out.

- one african team, one latin american team, one european team and one asian team will make it to the semis and media will make headlines refering to Worldwar III or something.

- Pele will call maradona a 'junkie midget' and pele will be called a '***** old man' in return ,will attack each other at the world cup opening ceremony, but unlike previous years noboldy will care.

- England will progress significantly and convincingly in the world cup and the euros with atleast three arsenal players in the squad.

- Spain will go out after the group stages in both the tournaments, spanish press will run stories of biscuits, iniesta, pique and a brazilian transvestite, who will go on to become worlds richest transvestite after publishing his autobiography.

- Belgium will make it to the Euros, If their young attacking players make some progress, they will make it till the quarter/semi finals.

Fixed it for you.

I'm already wondering as to why Cristiano Ronaldo is the skipper for Portugal, and probably still will be for the time to come.

- United States make the quarters

- Spain knocked out Round of 16

- Italy make a surprise comeback after it's taken them 8 years to realize they need younger players. (Semis or quarters)

- Messi finally scores a goal for Argentina. (Yes I know he scored once before in 2006)
