  1. What a start to the season!!! 3 games in and we have eboue as our starting wing forward..... again!!!!!
  2. VdV is better than Kranjcar, and he is one of the very few players in their squad with the experience of playing in Champion's league. He will defenitely improve them.
  3. Alex Hleb will now play this season at Birmingham!! He made 34 appearance for Stutgart, and was impressive in the champions league home match against barca, but still couldnt find a top club. BTW,He has a 4 year - 90m Euro buyout contract with barca. Looks like Birmingham,Spurs and Bolton have done really well with the transfers.
  4. :P ..will be funny if that happens. But the wheeler dealer will pull it off, im sure. WTF?!!!Did they teleport him to London??
  5. Everyone but Arsene can see this. Also a midfielder with a 'dark side' should help. oh.. that and injuries.....
  6. Will be a perfect match. But Mancini wont let him go to Spurs. Birmingham interested in Alexander Hleb???
  7. I dont think any arsenal supporter is hoping that buying shwarzer will solve all our problems. At best,he's a solid PL goal keeper - with aging reflexes - certainly more commanding in the box than almunia and fabianski. May be arsene plans to bring some competition for almunia and flappy which is not a bad thing. Spotting a goalkeeping talent may not be the problem for arsene, the real problem is, he ridiculously undervalue them. We were linked earlier this summer with names like Buffon, marchetti and frey, mertesacker and emir saphic etc. but i was sure that nobody is going to agree with arsene's valuation of those players. He really seem to underestimate what confidence a signing like buffon would bring to the squad.
  8. With Bendtner already injured,All eyes on chamakh now. All of a sudden, chamakh signing becomes very important looking, than just a 'decent buy'. If we dont have RVP for the chelsea away match (Oct 3rd), our chances of getting points from your lot becomes slim and a bad result could affect the confidence of the squad.
  9. So it's the last day... Mark Schwarzer may be a last minute addition. But knowing arsene i am preparing myself to face the disappointment. He has already submitted the same 2m bid twice (two different managers though). So a new improved offer is not a possibility, which is a shame really. With the other three signings, it looks like arsene has done good.
  10. Might have happend before i started regularly following arsenal - I am willing to delete those lines my post if theres any links. i couldnt find one though.
  11. I was suggesting that its been a long time - almost a decade since then... and i thought it has nothing to do with the cesc story.
  12. Arsenal never announces the name of the players they are going to sign. In chamakh's case arsene has always - link1, link2-maintained he is happy with the stikers he has- both in numbers and quality. Its always the players agent or the clubs that leaks these news to the press for their advantage. And I strongly disagree to the sudden consensus here that all clubs do the same - that is publicly pursuit a player after their managers/clubs declares that the player is not for sale. I cannot think of more than three or four clubs, rich clubs(or the clubs with gigantic debts). And in almost all the cases the pursuing club has ended up paying the right price for both clubs. In case of fabregas,There is no point in complaining to UEFA, unless fabregas himself hesitate to cooperate with arsenal - like berbatov did with Sp*s.So far cesc have been respectfull towards arsenal, unlike barca players/staff who states things like "arsenal will end up selling him to barca" and "arsenal have fabregas on loan". But if he does, i think we should put a formal complaint and from the clubs response so far in this issue, i think we will. And for the record, i dont think barca have done anything 'illegal' so far, just think they were 'a bit' classless and arrogant in this whole issue - especially after the club officially declared that cesc is not for sale in a strong language.
  13. This is the latest from a barca official in my knowledge. Barcelona sporting vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu says :
  14. Gasfart is having a brainpart! In 2001 he says,.. FFS!!!
  15. I think the man knows something about racism in football grounds, he has played in 4 major European leagues and that includes spain and Italy where racism is said to be more. Having said that, I am sure he'll face less number of nasty calls in US compared to Europe, but it has to do more with the difference in love/popularity/passion towards the game in both continents than a 'reflection of the society'.
  16. - one african team, one latin american team, one european team and one asian team will make it to the semis and media will make headlines refering to Worldwar III or something. - Pele will call maradona a 'junkie midget' and pele will be called a '***** old man' in return ,will attack each other at the world cup opening ceremony, but unlike previous years noboldy will care. - England will progress significantly and convincingly in the world cup and the euros with atleast three arsenal players in the squad. - Spain will go out after the group stages in both the tournaments, spanish press will run stories of biscuits, iniesta, pique and a brazilian transvestite, who will go on to become worlds richest transvestite after publishing his autobiography. - Belgium will make it to the Euros, If their young attacking players make some progress, they will make it till the quarter/semi finals.
  17. I dont agree with the notion that its the physical problems which affected him, he wasnt a pacy - physical striker before the injury. He depended on his movement, finishing and skills on the ball. Post injury, its the finishing part that eludes him (- i read somewhere that his shot-goal conversion ratio dropped to 6.5% post injury from 23.5%!), and as you said he lacks confidence and confidence has a lot to do with it. He had one or two excellent footballing moments - but i doubt any of them came after the 'dive' incident. I am not arguing that it is the only reason behind his performances-I think Arsene aslo should take some blame, and eduardo himself for diving against the mighty celtic who would have won the game 9-0 away if it wasnt for him to dive - but him being the public enemy afterwards, did play a major part in his performance. In the end,it looked like him leaving was the fair option for both club and eduardo.
  18. Eduardo is leaving :( Good luck to him! Thanks to the injury and media outrage against his diving, he never got settled with English game. I hope he does very well in Ukraine, and get a chance to play again in higher quality leagues.
  19. He was awfull against Barcelona - U.C.L first leg at sansiro. Came on for Milito in the latter stages of the game, when inter badly needed to hold on to the ball this guy makes 40yards shots which is way off target..(and he complains against Inter fans .)...Terrible discipline - very untypical mourinho player, but still he manages to make 30+ appearance and a decent amount of goals and assists ( wiki says 40apps - 11goals,8 assists for 2009/10),and that says a lot about his talent. Looks like hes perfectly built for English game - with some attitude and hardwork he could become a huge star.
  20. link Wait till 2015 then......
  21. He may be better than what we have got, but unfortunately that doesnt say anything. Schwarzer is 38 now, he is not going to get any better. At the moment,He is an OK keeper - aging reflexes but with no nonsesnse general play-where both our GKs are piss poor. But the fact is that there is atleast 6 or 7 goalkeepers better than him in the EPL, and i am a little disappointed that arsene didnt look for a better quality/young GK.... May be arsene want to bring in some competition for the GK spot or something.
  22. well..the last time he changed clubs money was said to be the reason. Mourinho loves quality defenders and it looks like real were looking for a quality left back - for the past two seasons they were linked with Clichy. Considering that "Més que un cn*ts" have messi playing on the Right side, i can see why mourinho goes for A.Cole. But,with C.F.Cs champions league ambitions, i doubt a transfer will happen.
  23. There's been a lot of- slightly depressing- rumoursof us putting a bid for Mark Schwarzer.
  24. Here's what fabregas says:
