What makes me happy? He is six feet or more, a defensive signing with a 10m price tag. He is 24yrs and can possibly grow a beard. What was the last time we made such a signing? :) Agree that there is a risk. Its not very often that Arsene risks 10m+ on a player. When he does, i expect the signings to do well and they generally do. Considering that we may lose 4 defenders in the summer, and top 4 premier league defenders costs ridiculousmoney its a risk well worth taking.

To be fair to him, were very good players too.The problem was that Once they both settled and started to come good, one went to injury room and other went to barca. Infact these two guys really unsettled our midfield for a couple of seasons.

What the F***! If Barca fans takes pride in their football its OK. Thats what football fans are. But for a nuetral - rational football lover, outside the pitch, and occasionally on the pitch, barca are as bad as any. Whether it is on transfers, fans behaviour, and financial management.

There are two players in the English NT, who had footballing education at arsenal. If you consider academies instead of currently played teams, you may get some wonderfull stats. Regarding the 'footballing style' point, How about getting rid of coaches who preaches 'kick'em and get in there faces' strategies when playing against techique/passing based teams? I am not arguing against physical play here. More Fullhams or Evertons and less Stoke and Blackburn will definitely help the National Team in the long run.

Fabregas can be replaced. The danger is wenger will not go outside and buy enough reinforcement, instead he may look for ramsey/nasri to fill the void which is a big ask.

As i said the fabregas to arsenal was legal mutual agreement , was it unfair on barca? may be but isnt it because of the footballing laws on spain? were you shedding any tears for Lille when kakuta transfer happend? And I dont think its 'immoral' to hold fabregas for one or two years against his wishes (arguably, because the player has stated a number of times that he respect arsenal and the contract he have with the club) considering the devolopement he had with us. Infact i think it would be a bit unfair from cesc if he put on a transfer request now.

The statement from arsenal.com reads "...To be clear, we will not make any kind of counterproposal or enter into any discussion. 'The way' we signed him???!!!!.Arsenal used a loop hole in the transfer policy in Spain to sign a 16 year old fabregas. I dont see any thing wrong or illegal with that since his family and he himself took the decision to join us - and to this day they are thankful to arsenal for that. Barca were furious, that i can understand but Its not a child trafficking case as you ( or Platini) would suggest. Btw, henry's last season, whenever he was on the pitch he was our best player and we got a decent return if you consider goal/game ratio. He had an off season, not because of the lack of commitment. I wouldnt expect cesc to be an adebayour, he is 22 and has time to achieve a lot. IMO, staying at arsenal for a couple of years wouldnt do anything bad to his career.

Very very cowardly act from ade, in my opinion. He is one of the top footballers from his country and is supposed to be a benchmark for all the young players. 'Taking a break' from international football we can understand, but this is a bit rediculous.
