José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2300986/Frank-Lampard-wants-Jose-Mourinho-Chelsea.html I did like this idea! But for further down the line admittedly! Wilkins yes would have been perfect, the amount of ppl that have been lost by the board is quite worrying! RDM also... Zola? Possibly too experienced, but Robbie was too, and assuming that Mourinho is not going to be around forever (much as it would be nice) maybe the opportunity to learn under him and take over the ropes in a few seasons would be appealable to him? But you are right that he can walk in ready to go this time, and one would expect that if he does come back then things are gonna be working quite differently for Mou to be happy, so I wouldn't be surprised with quite an overhaul of existing staff and for him to already have people he's had his eye on to bring in.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
very true, although lampard's record against top teams is hardly great either and I don't see many ppl claiming he should go for that reason. mata's done great against the better sides this year, one of many things that proves his indespensibility at the moment. but yeah, you know, having a striker that could do it would be nice.

The Rafa Benitez Thread (merged)
agreed... and he definitely should have played a better team against Southampton. the team selection today is going to be heavily scrutinised, though I do see a need for some rotation and with ba's cup tie and cahill and ac out it's only really the midfield that can be played around with anyway. tbh, i'll probably accept it aslong and benayoun doesn't get anyone near the pitch. or bench hopefully.

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
I have no idea of what Materazzi would bring to the bridge as an assistant tbh... but i'd welcome him after remembering reading this a couple of months back lol: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/i-feel-sorry-for-chelsea-fans-marco-materazzi-reignites-rafael-benitez-feud-8470682.html also, I would trust Mourinho to know who he would want as an assistant, and the rest of the staff, and whoever it is would likely end up amazing after working with him anyway... remember his backroom staff last time was Steve Clarke, Brendan Rodgers and AVB... all doing pretty well for themselves now!

Burak Yilmaz
agreed. falcoa would be an absolute beast for sure but it's a hell of a lot of money to risk especially with FFP coming in... would be very happy with Yilmaz

José Mourinho Confirmed as Chelsea Manager!
google translate makes a real hash of that! got more sense out of it in spanish! had not heard of the preagreement at all before... a little searching turned this up on the schmeicel thing it mentions at the end: http://www.as.com/english/articulo/schmeichel-mourinho-had-an-agreement/20121127dasdenspo_4/Ten appears to be the original (online) source. Sounds like it's taken from MOTD banter i reckon. Most of the rest of it I had heard before but it is well worth a read the chap (no idea about spanish journo's) has obviously done his research and has dated and worded it all well (in spanish lol) However it, reads like exactly how I WANT that information to read. If I was opposed to mourinhos return and had been presented with the same facts as him I imagine I could have written a fairly different article!

Frank Lampard Testimonial
I have a friend up here in Scotland telling me he's heard a rumour from the Rangers side of things that Frank Lampard was going to have a testimonial match against Rangers later in the year... All I could find online of even incredibly minor substance was this: http://www.rutherglenreformer.co.uk/rutherglen-news/rutherglen-local-news/2013/01/16/gers-chief-visits-rutherglen-63227-32606781/ where Charles Green is reported saying that Rangers have been asked to play in testimonials for 2 premiership players. Probably a load of tripe then but just wondering if any of the Rangers fans had heard anything similar?

Who's next? - Manager talk (merged)
Hello! I like to watch the odds in regards to our next manager... it keeps me entertained and provides pretty decent insight into the rumour market flying around at the moment. Bookies tend to know what they're talking about. Mourinho is down to evens across the board right now, and has consistently been favourite for the past few weeks (pretty much since guardiola went out the picture) and constantly falling in his odds to this point where he can't really fall much more. I have faith in that. Poyet flew down in the odds after the weekend temporarily knocking mou off the top spot, but he sits comfortably at 3rd now a few days later. Rumour? Or someone knowing RA has an itchy trigger finger... watch for him to return to favorite if we loose on saturday, or be back down to 5thish if we win. His coming would seem to me to entirely on whether rafa will last the season. Conte? Reported yesterday... Not even anywhere you can bet on him coming. Complete and utter crap. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9851259/Borussia-Dortmund-coach-Jurgen-Klopp-emerges-as-Chelseas-key-managerial-target.html klopp is todays rumour it seems. i'd rule him out anyway in my opportunity from what he's been saying himself in the last few weeks, and the odds havent moved an inch on him, though he ramains high in the running. i'm hands down mourinho's on the way at the moment. aslong as fsw doesn't f**k up and loose anymore i'll keep beleiving that. or until neil ashton tells me otherwise. (yes, he's a prick, but he does seem to know what's going on at stamford bridge before anyone else does.)
