Posted February 6, 201312 yr I have a friend up here in Scotland telling me he's heard a rumour from the Rangers side of things that Frank Lampard was going to have a testimonial match against Rangers later in the year... All I could find online of even incredibly minor substance was this: http://www.rutherglenreformer.co.uk/rutherglen-news/rutherglen-local-news/2013/01/16/gers-chief-visits-rutherglen-63227-32606781/ where Charles Green is reported saying that Rangers have been asked to play in testimonials for 2 premiership players. Probably a load of tripe then but just wondering if any of the Rangers fans had heard anything similar?
February 6, 201312 yr As you say, there's nothing concrete, just rumours. Here for instance: Possible match v Chelsea this season But you never know. A testimonial against Rangers is surely more likely than against West Ham, as suggested in the same thread.
February 6, 201312 yr Would love it to happen. My 2 clubs paying tribute to a man held in high regard by both (obviously more so Chelsea). Frank has been very kind in regards to the support in Glasgow's better half and likewise the Ibrox crowd always show how much they admire the man by the reception he continues to get when he visits.Make it happen Charles Green! 50 odd thousand bears chanting Super Frankie Lampard!
February 6, 201312 yr ive supported the gers since birth and have been following Chels since 85 Id hate the see Rangers in current form up against Chelsea sorry but we aint ready for that yet not for a long long time Would still come to the smoke for Lamps testimonial none the less KTBFFH
February 15, 201312 yr If this were to happen, they could sell Stamford Bridge over several times with all Chelsea fans who would want to be there for Super Frank and also the amount of Bears who would want to travel!
February 16, 201312 yr I hope he gets some sort of testimonial, I just hope that if it's against Rangers it's not too one sided (no disrespect).
February 16, 201312 yr Would be fantastic! Hope we play the Gers again in the pre season this year too

Probably a load of tripe then but just wondering if any of the Rangers fans had heard anything similar? I was at the last two visits to Ibrox with Chelsea and Super Frank got a great reception from the home fans. It would be nice to have the decent side of Glasgow down instead of that other disgrace of a club and its dispicable fans.
April 17, 201312 yr As a rangers diehard i would love to see us play in the great man frank lampards testimonial it would be a great day !!!
April 18, 201312 yr Greetings to all our North of the Border friends. Im not too sure of Franks relationship with the mighty Ger's to see where a testimonial against them would come from. But i know for certain if it was a Chels v Ger's match he would never forget the night BOTH ends sung his name for the full 90.
April 18, 201312 yr I would love this and would make sure I am there.... however I think with Franks standing in world football then it will be a mixed XI, considering his extrodinary form against Barca over the years for example I would expect the likes of Xavi to be there.
May 8, 201311 yr I don't see the point of a testimonial against Rangers at all, there is no history between Lampard and them so that would be pointless. The only one's that make sense to play against are West ham, Swansea or Bolton. West ham because that's where it all started for him. Swansea because that's where he made his first appearance. Bolton because that was where he scored his first league goal for the club and was the team he scored against twice to seal our first league title in 50 years.
May 9, 201311 yr On the other hand, there's no such thing as a friendly against West Ham. Besides which, the spammers as we all know, hate Frank with a passion. With respect to Swansea and Bolton, neither of these clubs would exactly be a massive draw. Rangers on the other hand, would generate massive interest among Chelsea fans and Rangers fans alike.

Surely it has to be a two legged affair!! I quiet fancy a trip to Glasgow to see the Blues.

May 10, 201311 yr They still queued up for his autograph when he donned a West Ham shirt a couple of years ago. You mean they get pikeys and tourists at Upton Park?
May 10, 201311 yr Surely not, they're a 'proper' football club aren't they? The grief Frank got after the world cup was ridiculous, I don't recall Gerrard or Carragher being accused of 'letting their country down' for missing a penalty. Edited May 10, 201311 yr by Lofty 1905
