Jonty got a reaction from Salato in Official Thomas Tuchel *Now Sacked*What a thoroughly stupid decision. There's been a lot of ridiculously premature sackings over the last 20 years but this might just be the worst.

Jonty reacted to bisright1 in We've got a new KepaI don't care what anyone says about that strke. Today you saw a first team keeper beat a second team keeper.
Mendy saves that.

Jonty got a reaction from Argo in Chelsea v Man City (CL Final) 29/05/21 KO 20:00 BSTIn light of the performances in the last two games, I think 10 of the 11 now pick themselves:
Mendy, Dave, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, James, Chilwell, Kante, Jorginho, Mount and Werner.
Only question mark for me is whether to go with Havertz or Pulisic.
The other lingering question was whether Dave should be played at CB or RB. He looked shattered by about the 60th minute in the Real game, and I don't think it's practical to sub off your captain/defensive leader in a Champions League Final. James showed yesterday he can be trusted in a big game defensively, and going forward he was excellent. Conversely, I don't trust Christensen or Zouma to the same degree.

Jonty got a reaction from Brutos in *Official* Pedro to ChelseaA pure class act, was genuinely annoyed that Tammy didn't play him in at the end of the game today for what looked like an easy parting goal.

Jonty reacted to Slojo in ShedEnd POTS 2020Absolute rubbish, yeah he's obviously not on KDB's level, not many players are, but has no vision or passing ability? This video says otherwise, he's played in some excellent through balls all season.

Jonty reacted to Nibs in ShedEnd POTS 2020Love Azpi. He has been Mr consistent in his time here and as you rightly say, is the consummate professional. However, I don't think he's had a great season. Yes, still the pick of our defenders and no doubt his game has suffered by us struggling defensively as a whole, but I've never seen him lose so many duels as he has this season, both on the deck and in the air. No way I could vote for any of our defenders as POTS with so many dreadful performances and all those goals conceded.

Jonty reacted to Valerie in ShedEnd POTS 2020Okay, we get it, you have opinions. Others have them as well. [shocking spoiler alert] Could it be that not everybody has the same one opinion (yours)?! This is not a right or wrong thing, and you have no place here to tell others your opinion is so much better that people not sharing them are clueless and should bugger off.
If you find it so hard to read about other opinions, I suggest you bugger off yourself. Much simpler.

Jonty reacted to Argo in *Official* Pedro to ChelseaWhat I loved the most about him is that he didn't come here to wind down. After winning everything at his boyhood club (and the national team) while being involved with the greatest club side of all time you would imagine a lot of players in his position wouldn't have the same hunger to make it work at a new club, especially when his first season involved an all time collapse of a season.
Not a bit of it with him though, he still played like he had everything to prove.

Jonty got a reaction from erskblue in Olivier GiroudI really cannot believe how much I have grown to like Giroud, as I did Fabregas before him. A striker who puts himself about physically as you want from any number 9, but also has the ability and attitude to play selflessly and make everyone around him better.

Jonty got a reaction from erskblue in Olivier Giroud7 goals in his last 9 starts. Tough to see him not getting first crack at the starting job next season on this form.

Jonty got a reaction from strider6004 in New Fifa Loan Rules - Who we keeping? It's one thing to say "sell, sell, sell", it's another to find a club willing to maintain Drinkwater's insane salary.
In reality this cap will mean a few extra expensive outcasts loitering around the fringe of the squad until their contracts run out.

Jonty got a reaction from evissy in Liverpool v Chelsea (PL) Wed 22nd July 2020 20:15 GMTVery entertaining game, and very unfortunate to be 3 goals down when I don't think Liverpool created a decent chance the entire first half.
For all the moaning about our defence it's worth noting the first and third goals came from mistakes by Willian and Giroud. Second goal was a very soft FK.
I'm also not sure which of those Kepa was supposed to save - perhaps the FK? The camera angle from behind TAA shows it went well outside the post before coming in though, I think people overreact when the keeper doesn't throw a futile dive at the ball.
The defence, goalkeeper and holding midfield players all rely on each other to make themselves look good. It's notable that this season has seen a noticeable decline from our two best defensive players (Kante and Dave), and that a few players who perhaps were being flattered by their efforts in recent years have been shown up as a result (Rudiger, Zouma, Christensen, Kepa, etc.). Having Oblak in goal wouldn't have stopped any of today's goals, and giving up on such a highly rated young GK seems foolish, especially if we aren't recouping a decent proportion of the initial investment.

Jonty reacted to dkw in Mateo KovačićHow about that makalele fella? Was he any good?

Jonty reacted to Slojo in Mateo KovačićI think there has been a significant improvement from Kovacic this season, than there was last season, especially in end product. Remember his ball to Kante against City? He's produced stuff like that all season. I think you're being incredibly harsh on his end product and basing it after just the last game.
He's got excellent stats this season compared to last that show his end product has definitely improved and he's getting the ball forward more. I know stats are not the be all end all, and I wish he would shoot more in situations against United, had two opportunities where the players leaned off him and he chose to slide it in. I think we're much better with him in the side than without it, even if he doesn't exactly have the vision and long range passing of Cesc Fabregas.
