Our midfield is not the same. We essentially replaced Enzo, Santos and Essugo with Henderson and Barco. This is a clear downgrade.
And I wouldn't be too excited about winning our first two games. We wouldn't be able to outscore every opponent from now till May, it's unsustainable.

I think it's smart to turn off the internet for the day. Right now 90% of what we hear is just noise that has an agenda. Whether to drive up the fee or to drive down the fee of someone we're trying to buy.

Agreed. Yes, the attacking trio are in form and it’s exciting to see them playing together, but our tactical setup looked like a pub game. Some people seem to like this idea of open, attacking football, but in my experience it consistently gets you nowhere when it comes to actually winning. This squad is still a season or two away from seriously challenging for anything anyway, so I suppose it matters little at this point.
But defend like this and sooner or later the attack won’t be able to keep up.
It was good not to see Sanchez in goal though.

Now I think of it, it was a horrible performance overall that was saved by our attackers. We had so little of the ball and if Brighton had Mitoma and Welbeck, I think we would have lost that game. The amount of times we lost duels and the amount of times Brighton were on to the 2nd ball after we cleared it was concerning. Brighton are a good side, but they're not the top. We shouldn't be dominated on the ball and relying on counter attacks at home against teams that are expected to finish around mid table if we're going to be serious this season.

If we mess this up and sign nobody, it brings our transfer window down to a 3 or 4 for me, just because it will absolutely destroy our season. Fulham and Brighton were a disaster off the ball in these first two games, our front 3 being in great form saved us big time. It's only a matter of time before we get comprehensively beaten and go on a run of poor results if we don't sort this out.

He’s frustrating player because it looks like he can and should do more but falls short which is why the fan base sometimes gets on him

It’s such a glaring issue that it genuinely drags our entire window from a 9/10 down to a 6/10.
Lavia is walking straight back into the same cycle — looking like a future superstar for a few flashes, then breaking down and disappearing until the new year. I am not having Reece James or Malo Gusto as constants in midfield. f**k THAT.

We need options in midfield. End of. It was apparent at the end of last season, and it's more apparent now.
Saw a stat that Gusto and Lavia only completed 20 passes against Brighton.

I have a hard time rating that performance as good. Too many errors from him, especially when it came to heading the ball. Standards should be a lot higher.
