Just remembered the amount of sh*t he used to give Mount after he left and pretend he was die hard Chels. What a fraud of a human.

I feel like it is one of those types of injuries like Palmer had last season. Something he will have to manage, which would mean he would be playing at 50%. I feel this way because Alonso said it was something they knew about.

With everything said and done, he better be getting a few kicks from our players when we play against City, especially after his beef with Mount.

I'm not concerned about missing out on 1 player, I am concerned about missing out entirely. We went from looking for 2 midfielders to getting none.

One game a week will help, but it doesn’t solve the actual problem. We’ve played two matches this season, and in both, a right‑back ended up in midfield. Against Fulham we had basically zero control, and against Brighton our midfield pairing completed twenty passes across ninety minutes. I don’t expect Caicedo to become injury‑prone suddenly, but once again we’re entering a season where if anything happens to him, we’re f**ked.
James in midfield is “fine” in the same way Chalobah was “fine” as a backup centre‑back. Barco is still completely untested. Not going to have my perception swayed immediately because he looked tidy against a League One side at home. People pushing Watson or Nicole‑Jazuli as genuine options are being disingenuous; Gusto would play ahead of both. After that, it’s a 36‑year‑old Jordan Henderson and blind hope that Romeo Lavia, for the first time in his career, doesn’t pick up a months‑long muscular injury.
Very curious to see what happens against Arsenal now, especially against a midfield that has bullied us on so many occasions.

I don't know how anybody could watch the games against Fulham and Brighton and think we will manage easily until January. Zero control in midfield means chaos ball in every single game. We had so little of the ball against Brighton, there was no link between defence and midfield and midfield and attack. The ball just kept ping ponging back to Brighton. Caicedo is injured, which people seem to be forgetting, Lavia can't play past 65 minutes, James can't play in every game because he is also made of glass, Henderson is injured and has had no pre-season, Barco is untested and also has had pretty much no pre-season.
The owners having no idea Monaco would make a hash of it is still on them. Why wait until the dying hours? They had June, July and August and the best they could do was a free transfer for old man Henderson and sell 3 midfielders.

At th end of the day we left it till the last minute so have nobody to blame but ourselves in that respect, Cameras name has been mentioned in the last few days so we have had ample opportunity to get this deal done, if it had fallen through as per last night for whatever reason at lest we would have still had a day or two to seek out any alternative that Alonso wanted.
Camara was a player we needed in a position that every man and his dog knows is a massive problem for us with the lack of natural depth there and the reliance on Moises.
We could have gone in early and tried to get Camara over the line - the money was there but instead we spend 40m signing a player that we ship straight out on loan to another club.
Maybe Monoco/Camara would still have not come , however at least we would have known early on.
Absolute sh1teshow as we've become so accustomed to.

Useless w**kers. They have completely f**ked us on the last day. They have had MONTHS to sort out the midfield, MONTHS! I said back in June that they were too slow and should have been getting things done quickly after our finish last season, but they moved at a snails pace as usual and wasted time trying to sign players like Xhaka on the cheap.
They were played by City, they left it to the last day on purpose to weaken us and leave us scrambling to find a replacement, and these stupid twats fell right into the trap. They got completely outsmarted with that deadline bullsh*t, City called their bluff. Any competent ownership would have stuck to that deadline, but these clowns thought they were the smart ones. I said the other day it was too late to sell him, I knew these twats were too incompetent to sort the midfield out in time, so I'm not shocked at all, I'm just angry. We can point the fingers all we like at Monaco for cancelling the Camara deal at the last second, but this is on BlueCo, you can't bank on things working out in the dying hours. It's too risky.
I also think they were bullsh*tting about wanting two midfielders, they couldn't afford it so put out their sh*tty little briefs to make it seem like they could. They couldn't do sh*t until Enzo was sold, but couldn't be sure how serious City were about Enzo because they delayed. They played games and they lost, making themselves out to be fools in the transfer market again, just as they were made to look like fools by Barcelona when they tried to sign Raphinha and Kounde.
They've f**ked Alonso over big time now and all we have to hope for is that he is some miracle manager because he now has no midfield to work with until January, minimum. Forget about any hope of pushing Arsenal in the title race, it was never really on anyway, but any hope you did have is gone now. Top 4 is the best we can hope for now and even that is going to be a huge ask without a midfield. An absolute sh*tshow.

Welcome to BlueCo's Chelsea, Xabi. I hope you weren't hoping for the Roman Abramovich one mate, because this lot will disappoint you when it matters most. Good luck making a midfield out of that, I don't envy your position when Lavia inevitably breaks down.

Our midfield is not the same. We essentially replaced Enzo, Santos and Essugo with Henderson and Barco. This is a clear downgrade.
And I wouldn't be too excited about winning our first two games. We wouldn't be able to outscore every opponent from now till May, it's unsustainable.

Agreed. Yes, the attacking trio are in form and it’s exciting to see them playing together, but our tactical setup looked like a pub game. Some people seem to like this idea of open, attacking football, but in my experience it consistently gets you nowhere when it comes to actually winning. This squad is still a season or two away from seriously challenging for anything anyway, so I suppose it matters little at this point.
But defend like this and sooner or later the attack won’t be able to keep up.
It was good not to see Sanchez in goal though.
