from what i understand while searching the web in order to procrastinate from finals revision, chelsea have released: Benayoun, Malouda, Ferreira, Hilario and Turnbull among others. 1) is this true? (the official chelsea website still have them as part of the first team squad) and if so... 2) thank god yossi is no longer able to be a hindrance to our team every time he comes on for one of his useless 20 min cameos (granted it was rafa who was instigating it but still) 3) although Malouda hasnt featured much of late, its a bit sad he is going without a proper send off. he has been an important player for us, especially in the ancelotti era. 3) what does this mean GK wise for us. i know we have Courtois and Cech, but neither will want to be 2nd keeper. So are they planning on bringing Delac, Blackman or Walker up from the under 21s or is there a keeper chelsea are looking to sign to be 2nd choice?? i would must prefer one of the boys be brought through but this hasnt been the way chelsea seem to operate as of late (bar a few exceptions of course) anyone able to shed some light??

seems that way.... problem is the media will keep spouting this bull until either we make an offer for someone publicly or 2) jose (or whoever the manager is going to be) releases some sort of wishlist

hi, ive been spending my time in the library revising for my finals debating this topic, mostly with myself to be honest... i believe that courtois is a better keeper, i mean his stats for athletico speak for themselves really. also, as mourinho (if indeed he does come back) would have seen him playing against his old real side, surely he would appreciate how good he is. i mean the kid is only 21 and so has the potential to become even better!!!! but does mourinho (or whoever it is) have the balls to make petr a 2nd choice keeper, as there would be no point bringing courtois over for him to just sit on the bench. or is he not good enough be our 1st choice.... thoughts?

i fully agree!!! however, i think we also need to think about investing in an actual defensive midfielder... if the rumours about khedira following jose are more than just fantasy then that could work (on the premise that david luiz stays - which we all want him to, but are unsure if he will) as that was luiz would have more freedom to roam about without having the responsibility of being the man who is supposed to protect our back 4. and while we are talking about dreams..... torres for ronaldo swap deal??

i wouldnt want KDB to be sold on purely for the fact that we cant keep throwing money at our problems. Sure we could spend £992392389million and buy amazing players but they are amazing now. Problem is in a few years time we have to spend another £*insert stupid amount*million to buy some more. surely if we spend less and have quality young players like KDB in the team who can make a huge impact as well as not cost us an arm and a leg to get (because we already have him) it would be better for the club.... As for Mourinho, i am sure he will see the quality we have and aim to keep it. on the face of it a 5 man combination of luiz, rami, KDB, oscar, mata, hazard, mikel, lampard (making cameos rather than starting every match - probably) and then moses, marin (dubious), romeu (even more dubious) as the outliers doesnt look half bad to me. especially since KDB could (possibly) play as an understudy to mata. the guy has been a hero but he simply cant play every minute of every game, especially if we have more seasons like we did this year!!!! also, *i expect backlash but only my opinion* it would be better for us if Courtois was our no1 keeper rather than Cech. i mean the kid is excellent!!!!
