Napoli are ready to challenge Galatasaray for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel.

Gala have offered £13 million for Obi Mikel in recent days.

However, Tuttosport says former Blues boss Rafa Benitez is keen to bring Obi Mikel to Napoli for the new season.

For his part, Obi Mikel admits he's spoken with former Chelseateammate Didier Drogba about the prospect of playing with him for Gala.

Napoli Eyeing Chelsea Duo As Part Of Cavani Deal

Napoli-Chelsea-Zuniga-+-Ramires-300x199.Napoli are hoping to have one of John Obi Mikel or Ramires inserted into the potential transfer of Edinson Cavani to the London club as well as the money they will receive for meeting his release clause.

Local radio reported on Monday that the move taking ‘El Matador’ was all but a done deal and the Partenopei are now looking to perhaps get the best deal they can from the situation.

Today’s edition of Tuttosport insists that as Mikel, who is set to depart the Blues, has not agreed a move to Galatasaray then this opens up the possibility of him being signed by the Vesuviani although former Chelsea interim boss Rafa Benitez does have his sights set on Ramires as he is a massive fan of the Brazilian.

In other transfer speculation concerning the 2011 Coppa Italia winners, they have completed the signing of Dries Mertens but are eyeing up Marseille defender Nicholas Nkoulou.

Galatasaray, who have been heavily linked with a move for Mikel as mentioned, are also interested in securing the signing of Napoli’s Gokhan Inler.

Ten million would be good, 20 would be insanely awesome, 30 would be "out of this world fukin amazing".

Please no.

Mikel is our best player. We cant sell him. It will be like Barcelona selling messi. Not gonna happen

Please, enough already... My sides they are a-splitting!

Can we not do something about this unoriginal prick?  If you're gonna say something, it should be either witty, or quick, or original or enlightening, preferably all four.

This tosser is none of those things, and, if nothing else, can people stop by-passing the wonderful "Ignore" function by quoting his infantile nonsense?

I only just realized I could put him on ignore and then he gets banned anyway  :flush:

How long have you been on here?  Bit slow on the uptake, are you?

Hopefully me not realizing how to up until now speaks more about the other members of the forum than it does me.

What a delightful response - and too true!  But you must be very patient if this is the first one you've ever wanted to ignore!

Rumours of Mikel Obi leaving Chelsea for this or that club still abound despite the international’s declaration through Turkish newspaper Sabah that if he is to leave it will certainly be for Galatasaray.

The midfielder’s latest rumoured links are with Italian Serie A clubs Napoli and Juventus.

Though Mikel’s move for Gala is quite probable following his declaration that he is willing to join the Champions of Turkey, FIFA licensed players’ agent, Giorgio De Giorgis, thinks that Mikel is precious and Chelsea cannot let him go.

“Obi Mikel is an important player for Chelsea, especially now that Mourinho has returned as the manager. Remember it was Mourinho that brought him (Mikel) to Chelsea. I do not think he would want to sell him now that he has matured.

“I also think Mikel will be too expensive for Napoli to buy if Chelsea decide to sell him. Mikel is a great player and should not be under-estimated.He will certainly cost a arm and a leg for any club that wants to buy him but I still think Chelsea are not interested in selling him,†completesportsnigeria.mobi quoted Giorgio De Giorgis.

During the interview with Saba Mikel said: “I’m very pleased with Galatasaray’s offer. I asked Drogba [who signed with Gala late last season] for advice and he told me that Istanbul is a fantastic city, that Galatasaray is a huge club and that I have to make the move.â€

“I have played at Chelsea for a long time and it’s now time for me to leave.

“I’m still only 26 and it’s great to receive an offer from a club playing Champions League football and doing well in the competition.†He said.

Gala is reportedly ready to make a € 13 million bid for Mikel who still has four years on his contract for the Blues

Didn't the club release a Statement declaring this quotes as false? If so how can anybody print them again and hope to not face legal action?
