I said this before but in my opinion as long as he didn't tear his cartilage or meniscus he should be able to get the ACL reconstruction surgery and be just fine in 7-9 months. If he had torn his articular cartilage or his meniscus his knee would never be the same since the meniscus cannot regrow, and cartilage cannot regrow exactly the way it was.

Yes he did. I was totally wrong, hopefully Mourinho has realized what the rest of us already know, which is that David Luiz's natural position is CDM. Think about it, he's great at interceptions, he will never get out-muscled, great on the ball, good passer, great shot, likes to get forward... all natural traits for a defensive midfielder. Though it must be said in the Europa League final against Benfica David Luiz played the whole game in CDM but was somewhat invisible and got outplayed by the Benfica specialists. Still, I hope Mourinho puts him there. Luiz is a great screen player for Cahill and Terry. That would be a sick triangle.

Actually the MRI can tell if the ACL is ruptured regardless of swelling. They will get him an MRI today. I just hope it's not a meniscus tear. Those can't be replaced or healed. An ACL can be replaced or repaired with stem cells if you have a lot of $$.

I agree with all of this. Mata shouldn't have to be made to defend. How do we expect to outscore teams if we have 11 defenders on the pitch? Some of our players must be attack-oriented. Willian looks pretty sh*tty. I doubt he'll get minutes in the premier league if Hazard and Schurrle are fit.

I agree, but Mourinho will start Eto'o. He's been knocking at the door the last 2 games, so close to scoring. I think Mourinho will believe Eto'o gets his goal against Tottenham.

Then I haven't written off Van Ginkel and Willian. Edit: actually I may have written-off Willian. He couldn't even score goals in the Ukrainian league.
