Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
When the Sheikhs came in and said they wanted the Premier League, there were many people I knew who scoffed at the idea of a City title, how were they going to compete with the likes of Chelsea who had Drogba, Deco, Ballack etc? How are they going to compete with United who have Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez etc.? How are they going to compete with Arsenal who had Fabregas, RVP, Nasri etc.? People don't understand that it was incredibly more difficult for City to break into the top teams than it was for Chelsea. Chelsea entered the arena with a far more favourable climate. The way City went about it was pretty impressive, first they brought in the base for their PL winning team relatively early on (Kompany, Lescott, Yaya, Silva, Tevez etc.) and then they went for jugular in 2011 with Clichy, Nasri and Aguero. As soon as they brought Nasri and Aguero I knew they won the league. It was well played and game over. Even Abramovic couldn't compete. It was a good move taking Arsenal's entire left wing considering how they performed in the season prior.

What is the point in watching La liga anymore, the refs are so incompetent and blatantly biased, even when they know the cameras prove them wrong they still carry themselves like Franco, puta fascists.

Everything that Mata's
Lol. Nice and sweet. It's difficult to imagine Mata playing in the premier league without a blue shirt on. The worst I've felt was Di Matteo leaving Chelsea though, that was the only Chelsea decision that really incensed me, he just didn't deserve that one bit, he could have easily gone on to win the PL we'll never know.

Everything that Mata's
It's amazing how backward and old-fashioned views on football dominate this forum, a lot of people on here genuinely believe that the preserve of supporting their club only belongs to the card-carrying members over in West London.

Should the World Cup be moved?
I'm just happy the aussies don't have it. If we didn't get 2018, they have no right getting the 2022.

Everything that Mata's
But Moyes has successfully alienated the players he has already got, it isn't far fetched to doubt that Mata would thrive under such a coach.

Moyes thinks he can get Toni Kroos what an idiot, he's wasted money on plane tickets and what kind of idiot goes to scout a world class player like Kroos anyway? Moyes out of his depth.

Lol look at redcafe, bunch of over-excited kids acting like its Christmas morning.

Everything that Mata's
Yes. Under Mourinho, his world cup hopes are basically finished, the competition for the midfield and forward positions for Spain is ridiculously intense. No wonder he can't leave Chelsea quick enough.

Everything that Mata's
I would like to see Di Maria come to Chelsea, it could happen.

Everything that Mata's
Ah damn. This looks like it might go through, absolute madness, what is Jose thinking exactly? Chelsea have it all to play for, good shot at winning the title and going far in the CL, and he lets Mata leave?! I just don't get it, don't understand it at all, unless he's bringing in a special player in his place.

Suarez Vs Terry & Cahill
Such an abomination that Gerrard is still in the team and Terry isn't. As long as Gerrard continues to wear the England shirt, they won't touch a Semis place, such an awfully limited and wretched player. Sir Alex got it spot on on his analysis of him.

Do West Ham not have one iota of pride? What an embarassment of a club, hope they get relegated.

Everything that Mata's
I don't understand how you can say that though, look at Chelsea's league position. Clearly throwing Mata out of the first team has paid dividends. He's a good player but doesn't fit in Mourinho's plans, simple as. It wouldn't be in Mata's or Chelsea's best interests to sell him to United anyway. The last thing Chelsea need is to possibly face Mata in the CL quarters and the last thing Mata needs is to go to a club sinking quicker than the titanic herself.

Interesting how you continuously resort to calling me that heinously offensive term "opposition" fan as an argument defending Tottenham's 100m spending spree with nothing to show for it. Keep up the good work dear (!) x

Tbh, I was laughing myself. I remember watching City in that title winning season when I kept seeing Clichy making overlapping runs for Nasri, absolutely hilarious that they literally transported our left hand side up to the Etihad.

I don't think I said anything resembling that, would you like to quote the post you're referring to?

They're a funny bunch. I remember them being offended at being called ***s and then they turn around and start singing at the top of their lungs that they're ***s which naturally left the police confused as to what to do.

Where did I say that? (In fact, I said the opposite ) Grow a pair and grow up.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
Are you seriously still defending a club that finished 5th, one point behind the CL places, then going on to spend over 100m and still finding themselves struggling to hold down a CL place? Even the Spuds board knew enough to get rid, but yeah, keep defending the indefensible (probably got nothing better to do?).

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
Thank you. I like that part too. Yes, clearly no amount of money could replace Bale (!) or Fabregas, or RVP or even Ronaldo himself when he left Man Utd. Man Utd clearly struggled post- Ronaldo didn't they? Tbh, no wonder they sacked AVB. To spend 100m, not compete for the title, get their backsides handed to them by Liverpool and City, that's a disgrace.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
They're fighting for 4th place yes, and they could get it but I think Liverpool are favourites for that spot. But, what I don't understand is how a club can spend more than 100m pounds in the summer and not even be in contention for the title. That's outrageous management of not just the funds but the club. That's disgraceful, it doesn't matter which way you look at it. There's a real possibility they might even find themselves a position lower than last year.
-
Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2013-14
That's a bit insane to be fair. The whole of last summer I had Spuds gloating in my ear that they'll be finishing above us this season because of their ridiculous transfer spending, they've sacked their manager before half a season has even gone Needless to say, they've now pretty much gone into hiding.
