This all the way. Everton came here with a good plan to defend and counter attack and it worked. Plus we were troubled by their physicality and pace. Make no mistake that we had enough possession, but when it comes to bringing on a game changer we had no answer. almost All our players looked a step slower and not completely in sync. Yes Kante had a bad game and so did Kovacic - but keep in mind that it is their grittiness and hardwork that allows Jorginho to play in his role without being a dfensive liability. Also games like this when Willian and Morata go missing - we are essentially a one man army in attack.

RLC has a place in the Chelsea squad and it is to play against opposition who are not a goal scoring threat. Starting him vs top teams is something he is not ready for yet. From what i observed, his issues seem purely mental. He has too much concentration lapses and that needs to be fixed. he gives away the ball cheaply sometimes or is caught offguard, but that is because he does not seem ready at that instance. Then you have instances where he is running like a man possessed skipping past defenders. We need this version of RLC more often.

I felt he started the game very well, made the right runs and lovely goal as well. But come second half you can see that he was getting bad to his bad habits. While i am happy for his changing fortunes I am still of the opinion that we need a striker.
