  3. I agree with the first and third point and AVB's stubborn tactics. Although I don't consider Jose to be toxic. Strong willed isn't the same as toxic. If it were any other manager (aside from the greats) you wouldn't consider replacing 6-8 players. But in the case of the greats and this treacherous bunch of players. It would be expedient to do so.
  4. So far, meant the Premier League title last season. I got to admit, I wouldn't mind going that far.

  7. A case of sack the team. Not the Manager. Chelsea have been cutting expenditure for the last two seasons. Mourinho has had to sell to buy and in some cases not buy at all. This helped to undermine Mourinho as he couldn't threaten under performing players with the chop as the players knew he had no alternatives, neither was he going to get one in the transfer window. This isn't even the first time it's happened. Player power ousted Villas Boas. A dangerous precedence that doesn't bode well for the future. Is it a case of the owner being too close to the players? In Madrid Mourinho encountered the same problem. A player could run to the president and air his grievances against the manager and get a hearing. No questions asked. No manager can work in that environment.
  8. What makes great managers, great, is their stubbornness. If they were to chop and change to every eventuality they wouldn't have the inner confidence. The conviction of their beliefs to stay the course and win things. Mourinho trying the same thing is understandable on some level. What I want to know is when will he change it. It's one thing to know your strategy works. It's quite another to realise it won't work with the assembled cast at his disposal.
  9. De Bruyne and Lakaku look like mistakes now, but at the time Mourinho sold them, he was plotting a Premier League crown. Winning the title vindicates his decision. De Bruyne and Lakaku weren't going to sit around for a season or two for their chance to come (and rightly so!). And if we're being honest Mourinho didn't think they had the mentality (or the ability) to reach the supreme heights he targets.
  10. Chelsea are in the position of having the right manager but the wrong team. Certain individuals within the team are still pulling their weight (and in Willian's case more than his weight) but others are destined for new clubs. I realise why Mourinho holds to his philosophy of controlling games. But with the attitude of some of the players it would probably be best if Mourinho decided to change things. I think two strikers up top with Fabregas acting as the lock pick would be a good start. Maybe use Azpilicueta and Rahman as proper wing backs to supply the forwards and maybe get involved themselves. I sincerely believe Chelsea are capable of battering teams, it's just a fact at the minute they can't stop opponents from scoring against them. Which unfortunately is the bedrock of Mourinho's philosophy.
