  1. I'm not saying racism doesn't exist and there isn't a problem in the press in this country. I haven't read newspapers for many years so I don't know, but that doesn't mean that that specific example was because he was black and people shouldn't jump to conclusions like that. Sometimes people see what they want to see. I do remember Beckham getting treated like that when he was young as well. Pretty sure I remember Giggs and Lee Sharpe getting it as well 20 odd years ago. This has always been a thing ever since I as a kid. The press love, or loved when I read it to go on about footballers being paid too much. I recently had a conversation with a couple of friends who black friends who were convinced police treated them differently because they were black. Only problem was it turned out that I had more problems with being mistreated by the police than both of them put together despite me being the only one out of the the three to have never committed a crime and being white. Claiming racism where there isn't any proof of racism (like in that original example) doesn't help the cause. I don't like that headline, I'm not going to go through every article posted and I never said racism doesn't exist in the press. I'm not sure where you're trying to go with this.
  2. It's relevant because they are trying to point out is that a footballer who hasn't even played a game has splashed out millions despite not even starting a game. That's why they picked him, because he is low profile and still able to spend millions on a house. The media is obsessed with footballers wages and what they spend their money on. Of course Foden get's a different headline as his situation is different. He's hyped as the next big thing, and already part of one the best squads in the country. They are both stupid articles, and I don't think it's our buisness what they spend their money on, or if they have that much money so young without playing, but it's not about race and I wonder (and worry) how peoples minds work that race is the thing they see when they see those two headlines. Anyway, this is about Hudson Odoi, and he has been treated fairly so far and race doesn't need to be mentioned.
  3. I thought it was a silly example of racism when thiscame out over a year ago. Foden had played in the Champions League and Premier League when his article was written while the other guy hadn't. Articles was also written by different people. Personally I hate these kinds of articles and wouldn't normally read them. I don't have any interest in what footballers spend their money on. I just see the article on the guy who hadn't played as the media doing what it always does and try and make out that footballers make too much money too soon. The media are obsessed with how much money they earn. The articles are stupid, but it's a stretch to claim it's because he is black and not based on any evidence at all. People need to stop looking for racism. There's enough off it around to not it make up. The press love to destroy people if they are given the chance, but Hudson Odoi has been treated very well by the press. I haven't even seen as much publicity about him breaking lock down compared to the other footballers who broke it. Bringing race into this isn't needed.
  4. Did you mean to quote my post?
  5. Because it's nearly impossible to prove false allegations unless the person who made it is an idiot and makes it obvious it is a false allegation. Anyway, pleased it's not going any further. People on this forum overreacted when he was arrested. People need to remember innocent until proved guilty and understand that being arrested doesn't mean anything. It doesn't even mean the police think you did it, just that there was an allegation and they need to look into it. Breaking lockdown isn't good, but it's not a big deal either.

    Timo Werner

Excellent player. Good age as well. Nice surprise as I expected him to go to Liverpool.
  7. Not one person has suggested otherwise. I'm not sure why you felt the need to say this. Also, being a talented footballer and professional athlete doesn't suddenly make you mature faster. It's not pointless at all. We are all capable of remembering how flawed we were at 19, and how we made bad decisions. We don't need fame and money to understand young people are immature and make bad decisions.
  8. In my job I often have to spend time talking to 19-21 year olds. As you would expect, they are very immature and make poor decisions. It's like talking to children sometimes. I was an idiot I was 19 years old. If at that age I had gorgeous woman desperate to come to mine I would have likely invited her over as well. If he doesn't get charged, this will be forgotten straight away. It will be a distant memory by the time fans are back in the stadium. People on this forum are making this a bigger deal than it is at this stage. Obviously it all changes if he is charged and goes to trial.
  9. This is a silly thing you just said. You seem very ignorant when it comes to the legal system. Police arrest lots of people every day when someone hasn't done anything wrong. Police will arrest anyone accused of rape, even if it turns out they didn't do it. It's just the start of the investigation and he hasn't even been charged yet. Being charged doesn't even mean you've done anything wrong either and he's not even at that stage yet. Her going to the hospital also doesn't mean anything either and is what I would expect to happen. I haven't seen anyone say he's innocent (can you quote any post saying that?). No one should have an opinion on if he is guilty or not at this stage. Just wait and see what happens.
  10. As for Hudson Odoi, he hasn't even been charged yet, so I don't have an opinion on it. Being arrested doesn't mean anything. We will see what happens, but he is innocent until proven guilty.
  11. You need to read what you've been posting because you've very clearly said, "No having sex with a woman without fully understanding the situation put you at risk, not just having sex if that was the case you would get accusations like this so much more." The only way you can believe that quote is if you assume the accused did something wrong. You can do everything right and still get accused of rape. It happens
  12. No. You're completely wrong. You seem to assume that everyone accused has done something wrong. Being accused doesn't mean you didn't get consent . I'm amazed I'm having to explain this.
  13. You said This is a ridiculous thing to say. Having sex with a woman puts you in a situation where you could be accused of rape. Any of them could have accused you. It's impossible to avoid this small risk unless you just never have sex again. Being accused of rape isn't something that will happen to many people, so the fact you haven't been accused yourself is irrelevant. You have still put yourself in a situation where you could have been accused, which is what you're saying no one should ever do.
