  1. Absolutely agree with you. Sven would of been the exact man to relish in the opportunity to work with an open cheque book. His network was second to none as was his standing in the game, he alone could of attracted the next level of player up from Hughes due to his recognition and reputation. We do need to climb the ladder and build a squad with depth and the right balance of youth and experience. I absolutely agree. I just feel Hughes has taken us to an unnecessary low, our squad is much better than its league position. It is completely unacceptable to be mixing it with Blackburn and Stoke. This season is a right off in terms of accomplishments on the pitch, all we can do is build a more solid squad this month. Robinho has been every bit the superstar i imagined he would be, I feel we are letting him, Ireland Wrighty and Kompany and to an extent Zabaletta down this season. Those players have not let their heads drop and are the standard I hope we bring in, this is one strong point about Hughes, he has been involved in bringing those players into the club with the exception of Ireland. Although how much he knew about Robinho is questionable. I am luckily staying in the south at the moment so have only lost my train ticket money from today. I know blues that have travelled down overnight and left early this morning. It is a disgrace and i hope they are fined heavily.
  2. Hello again. Very annoyed about Portsmouth being called off. I have no idea how a premier league club that has hosted European football this season cannot afford undersoil heating. It costs 160k to install. Probably 2 weeks of Crouch's wages. It is good news and bad news for us. Good news is that we will have Robinho back fit for our next game, it also gives us a chance to strengthen ahead of Wigan on saturday. The bad news is that although we will now have a game in hand we could end up in the bottom three if results go against us. Not a great position to be in while in negotiations. To say im disappointed with this season is an understatement. As for the question about who I think we will sign in January. It is very difficult to say, there is so much speculation from all angles so it is hard to decipher truth from the bullsh*t. It is also extremely difficult with the uncertainties surrounding Hughes. I have heard we are in advanced negotiations with Lescott. He would be an ideal signing. Defense is a priority in my opinion. We have been a shambles on a consistent basis, a defense that used to be very hard to break down now look like a bunch of strangers. Bad coaching is the main cause as well as the uncertainties of their futures. The sudden wealth has highlighted plenty of players that arent good enough and don't have the mentality for a challenge. Stephen Ireland has risen to that challenge. He has been a star of the season for us. Personally I am underwhelmed by Hughes pursuit of Bellamy and RSC. fat Sam is taking the piss with his comments. We offered 18 million and that is not deemed enough for a player that was bought for 3.7 million and has scored only 3 goals this season. I pray we walk away, but I fear Hughes will turn to Bellamy if we do. That is a real worry for me. It confirms my fears about his management style. He has been unable to motivate the most talented City side i have seen in well over 15 years. Instead he is trying to surround himself with players he knows, none of which are considered top players. Garry Cook stated earlier in the season that Mark Hughes needs to step out of his comfort zone and show ambition, Bellamy, Santa Cruz and a possible late bid for Bentley have all been mooted. I am not denying these players are good solid players and we need to learn to walk before we can run, however we have added over 80 million of talent on top of a side that finished ninth. There is strong talk we are working hard on a superstar. Guillem Balague claims we are on the verge of signing one. I am not deluded to think that we will just wake up one morning and see Kaka wearing a City shirt, although in my opinion, he is the most likely along with Villa. kaka has openly spoken of his interest and did not rule us out in an interview. Having Robinho here probably takes the likelihood of him signing to about 5%! The financial situations of both AC Milan and Valencia put us in a good negotiating position, however with our current position it makes the negotiations extremely difficult, especially with the likelihood of no European football next season. Which brings me onto my final point. The manager. It is being reported in the press this morning that we have met with Mancini. In my honest opinion, i think the owners would of stuck with Hughes had they taken over earlier, they are respectful people and would of wanted to be seen as doing the right thing so to speak. they would not of wanted to of been vilified instantly by the press in a Thaksin stylie. However it is my belief that on his showing so far he is as good as gone. He is not a high profile manager. I highly doubt the Kaka and Villas of this world relish the prospect of being managed by Mark Hughes. I feel for him in a way, as when he took over he was the right man for the job, however the brief changed very quickly and along with the majority of our squad, has proved they are not up to the job. I don't feel he has control over the dressing room and on the pitch, we are a shambles, Danny Sturridge and Elano were arguing with each other and Hughes over where they were playing against Forrest. In my opinion a manager should be able to handle all types of personalities, Hughes only seems to have patience for the players that share his personality traits. that said. If he is to go, I would like to see the group of players that have shown themselves up this season to leave as well. The club needs an enormous overhaul in the summer. i would like to see a Mancini, Hiddink or Rijkard come in and do that. We are linked with Mourinho but I can't see it, as much as I would like it. Sorry for the long winded reply, maybe it should of had its own thread, but I dont feel I should be here making my own as a supporter of a rival team. i say rival in the loosest terms. we are a million miles from you. Oh and I will be praying you beat the rags tomorrow. Loving the Benitez rant yesterday. The perfect execution. Hope you carry it onto the pitch tomorrow.
  3. Im going down to Pompey on Saturday which will hopefully be Bridges debut. Really looking forward to seeing him play. I remember being pretty jealous when he went to Fulham on loan a few seasons back. I expected us to be busier in this window than we have been, Im pretty surprised in all honesty. Struggling to find the support for Mark Hughes. The Forrest capitulation was extremely embarrassing, players seem to be going backwards under Hughes. There are to many uncertainties and mixed reports.
  4. Weird how Scolari doesn't have a clue. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... 089029.ece
  5. On your official site now. I want this one concluded today. Whats going on with your finances? I've seen all the media stirring claiming you are in trouble, I don't believe any of it. Is Kenyon trying to get you to operate within your means now? Is that the end of your mega spending days? I can't see Abramovich giving us a free run at trying to sign the likes of Villa and Kaka. Trying being the main word. I am not completely delusional although the Valencia owner has basically come out and asked us to bid for him today. Edit. Sky bet odds have just gone to evens on Villa signing for us. If that comes through we really need to sort out our defense. Bridge is the start.
  6. Nice to see another team fan noticing the joke journalism from twitchy arsed rags. You lot have had to put up with it for the last few years as well. Buffon was and still is a possibility, but ideally at this stage of the season we need experience and a player that will settle quickly. Given might just sort out Richard Dunne, but I doubt it. Looks as though the Bridge deal will be completed today. Just need to sort out the CB positions now. I can't believe how badly Micah Richards has gone backwards this season. He has put on so much muscle weight he has lost his pace and his leap. Zhirkov will be a top player for you, like others im not sure about his defensive qualities but playing him as a left winger will give you width.
  7. Delighted it has to be said. Same person taht told me this reckons we have signed Given as well. He is making noises about leaving so I wouldn't be suprised. Bridge would be such an improvement at left back for us now. Pray it goes through.
  8. Yeh I would be very happy with him to be honest. Michael Ball is so bad its unreal. today he was shocking again. As for Senna, we need another holding midfielder. Away games we are getting bullied. It also frees up Kompany to move into defense as Dunne and Richards have been woeful at times this season. It gives us options and we have lacked that for decades. Kompany is an absolute machine but when he drops into defense he is even better. We need a player that can play the ball from the back. Dunne is a hoof merchant. With the lack of height we have upfront, the ball is coming back at us to quickly. Ideally I would like to see us sign 5 players. More if possible, a keeper and maybe a left winger while Petrov is out. These I feel are realistic. Bridge Upson/Lescott Senna Kranjcar RSC Defoe would be nice, however, I have doubts about him wanting to move north of Watford. We need to be solid. Blackburn was a horrid game today. Long ball after long ball but we got a good result in the end.
  9. Tell me about it. I want january to arrive and leave quickly. Its silly season with us at the moment. We are linked with players that are well above our station at the moment, but we maybe can attract one. Senna has been openly talking about us. I would take him in a heartbeat. Senna Bridge Santa Cruz That would be a good start. We need alot though.
  10. Hello lads. Good result for you lot yesterday. Praying you lot win the title this year. At our match yesterday there was a lot of talk that we have signed Bridge, plenty of people spotting him at Carrington during the week. Just wondered if any of you lot had any info on that side. I know there were paper stories claiming that you would not be doing business with City but I have heard the fee is 13 million so that could help you out. If it is 13 million we have been well and truly done over but my god we need a left back.
  11. Don't mate. Watching Vassell and Benjani playing week in week out is f**king suicide stuff. I honestly think he would play Kaka at left back rather than drop Vass. Hughes is looking more and more out of his depth in this job. He is telling all of us fans not to expect to much in the transfer window, but if anyone need something special in january its Hughes. He needs some miracle workers. He does not have a clue how to play with flair players. He is turning us into a long ball team.
  12. Think Kaka is definitely open to moving to us (City) He is continuously talking about us in the press at the moment and we would be stupid not to make a move. However I would have to laugh. Robinho and Kaka at our place, we are currently below Stoke.
  13. Well done lads. You played brilliantly yesterday. I think the majority of City fans exploded when Robinho scored. He looks a great player. You made inroads into us yesterday though. Zabaleta had never even trained with the team and was thrown in. Looked out of his depth. We are a very young team but have a very good backbone now. I hope that we can play to the standard you achieved soon. On a side note im suprosed John Terry can count to three
  14. Read back over a few of his interviews in the last few days. He claims Chelsea have a bigger history than us etc etc... In recent years yes. But the facts pre Roman era we have the more trophys, bigger fan base etc... Been mouthing off over robinho non stop, did the same with Ronaldinho. He doesnt know his arse from his elbow when it comes to history in this country, he will be in for a rough ride today
  15. Well we have already got Robinho. Kaka next
  16. Hello lads. Going to be a tough game for us today. A hell of a lot of expectation surrounding us now. Im hoping for a draw. We should be set up like this ------------------Hart------------------ Zabaleta---Richards---Dunne---Ball ------Kompany-----Hamman--------- SWP------------Elano------------Robinho ----------------------Jo hamman could be replace in there with Ireland or Johnson. Im sure you want to see a few crunching tackles go in on Robinho. We are hoping for a few to go in on Deco. Think he is in for a bit of a ride today.
  17. This news is breaking in spain Less than two hours for closing the deadline for making signings Robinho `` case has come to an end. As has advanced exclusively Jose Ramon de la Morena, Real Madrid has decided to transfer to Robinho to Manchester City. The club white levied 40 million euros for the Brazilian player's transfer to English club. This evening Real Madrid has received an offer of 32 million from Manchester City for Robinho. In Madrid thought that the offer was a "bluff" and you were told that if the English club paid 40 million for Robinho what traspasaban. Madrid has called for Robinho to Brazil, where it is concentrated with their selection, to inform the offer of Manchester and the player has told you that he did not want to continue at the club white. And said and done. Robinho is already player of Manchester City.
  18. hello lads. Im amazed at how quickly our fortunes of changed. We are now the richest club in the world. i honestly think anything is possible at the moment
  19. So happy. I know he didnt set the world alight for you but I am so happy!!!!!
  20. Ian Wright announced on talk sport that a deal is done. He is going where he is wanted by the fans. Has to be us. Gotta say im delighted. I was gutted when he went, we need a right sided mid and he knows that position well. Oh and as for the everton fan. Our chairman might be bent as f**k but at least he isnt skint as f**k. LARS JACOBSEN? WHO??? Try and catch onto our coat tails this season. Youve been doing it all summer.
  21. We can offer him the chance to return to the club where he is a hero. A club that is actually showing some ambition contrary to what you read in the press. The chance to work with a lot of his mates. He is adored by the fans here and is repeatedly asked to come home. A permananent deal as apposed to a loan. The guy needs to be settled to play his best football. You know he will pick us over you. Whingeing poor old david moyes who has a future that is uncertain. Every transfer window he throws his toys out. A big plus is that he wont have to be captained by Phil Chuckle. He also still owns an apartment here
