  1. Theres rumours around that SWP could be at Carrington today. Have any of you lot heard anything. persoanlly I hope we get him back. We can offer him alot more than Everton. We have bid cash while Everton have only offered a loan deal. He apparently had a medical at Everton last night but is at City today.
  2. i hope you realise that Scolari, when in club management was known as a defensive coach. His teams played on the counter attack. I think you will be getting ahead of yourselves by a season if you think he is going to revolutionise your team. If anything he will keep the team together and let go some of your fringe players. Maybe replace them with one or two attack minded players What manager in their right mind would sign for Chelsea and rip up the back bone you have got? He will play it safe in at least his first 6 months in charge. I think should he do well this season he will then make more of an impression on your signings but dont expect flashy flair football straight away. I imagine you will continue to win, but not in the style you hope for. Initially.
  3. To be honest we ripped you off good and proper for Shaun. I can tell you now that he never wanted to leave in the first place. We were in a real mess financially and possibly facing administation. When the 21 million figure came in he was forced to leave by the City heirachy. A lot of fans were left hurt by him never saying thankyou to the club or City fans but the reason above is why. He had already turned down a ten million offer from Arsenal, which was a more realistic price and a more likely destination in City fans eyes. I would love him back at City. He was a hero here. He never looked the same player when playing for you. Maybe he was out of his depth but he just didnt seem to have the same desire or passion. Im getting sick to death of uncle 'arry. He is literally rebuilding man city circa 2004. In the last few years he has taken. James, Distin, Cole, Berkovic, now he wants Dunne, Wright Phillips and Anelka.
  4. Yes. I have heard we are holding up announcing next seasons kit until we know one way or another with Ronnie. Nike are also interested in acquiring our stadium naming rights. I think Garry Cook will swing the deal in our favour if im being honest. Ronnie has to be out of Barca by July 10th. You havent even hinted you want to enter negotiations and for me your running out of time to get a deal.
  5. Deco. Ronaldinho and Eto'o have all just been named surplus to reqirements at Barca. Thought this might interest you though Sheva http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/48617/...e-it-in-Ron-bid Manchester City are hoping to secure the transfer of Barcelona’s Ronaldinho – with his sponsors Nike. Brazilian playmaker Ronaldinho is so closely tied to Nike, I can reveal, that they have contractual call on a set number of dates for personal appearances, adverts and endorsements, mostly in Spain and linked to his playing contract at the Nou Camp. Manchester City’s new chief executive Garry Cook, a former Nike executive, has masterminded the hugely complex detail of marrying those priority dates into a season turning out for City. It could mean, for example, that Ronaldinho would be excused from some games, possibly early Carling Cup fixtures, to fulfil existing contractual arrangements with Nike in Spain. It is an extraordinary scenario, a first in this country, and is sure to cause the game’s administrators nightmares if they feel it might set a precedent. City are confident they can come to a financial deal with Barcelona, who are only too willing to offload a player at the age of 28 who had lost his zest for the game in the final stages of last season. There are no other serious bidders for Ronaldinho, who could cost City’s new boss Mark Hughes less than £20million. I did tell you that his sponsor have a bigger say than you gave credit for. Whatever happens its going to speed up with the news from Barca today.
  6. I havent heard the manthialand one before. Not as good as Chel$ki though Its not going to be our money though so I too hope he screws every last penny out of the sponsor we are arranging so he signs for us. As for Dickov, his contract is up. Personally I would of loved to of heard Sun Jihai and Ronaldinho in the same sentance, but his contract is up as well.
  7. I hope you end up eating your hat mate. Its going to take you months of negotiations to get him as well. I think you will go for him if and when Kaka and Torres reject you. What makes you think its obvious you are interested? I havent read anything of the sort. Ive read the obvious quote from Ronaldinho about Scolari. Lets face it, he wasnt going to call him a twirp and say, "no I hope our paths never cross again." Whatever happens this one has a long way to go yet. I also read your chairman saying you would not be attempting to sign him this summer. If you do get him I cant wait to see him in the premier league. I think it will make a mess of your dressing room though. Especially with your players who have equal parity with the top earners at the club. I thought Roman wanted to cut back on spending? Your Adidas contract is going to make things pretty difficult as well. Can you afford to waste your time trying to get him signed when its clear you have bigger targets to prioritiise first? Your post indicates that your kinda annoyed by the fact we may sign Ronaldinho over you, there has been speculation about us because his brother stated that he knows of Scolari taking over at Chelsea, why would he come out in public and say that? To get Chelsea attracted to a deal. It won't take months of negotiationing since Barca want to get rid of him and we have like a month and a half until the Transfer window closure. I've stated before that the Nike/Adidas thing won't be a problem... just look at Fernando Torres, he's one of Nike's biggest players at the moment that they sponser and he plays for Liverpool(Adidas) and Spain(Adidas) for a player to come out and say i've signed for a club because my sponsor told me too is pretty darn stupid. Or quite simply he was posed the question?? In the past you have been extremly vocal in your admiration of him. However that has changed this season. Bruce Buck stated you will not be signing him in the summer. As for Torres, his stock has only risen at the end of this season. You cant honestly think that before Torres signed for Liverpool he was as high profile as Ronaldinho? I know for a fact that Nike are leaning on him very heavily to sign for City, they have been offered our stadium name and shirt deal. His sponsor hold a bigger sway than you give credit for. It will take you months to do the deal. Look how long it took United and Barca to get his signature before he signed for barca. We have been in negotiations for a couple of months now. It isnt as simple a' signing as you seem to think. But lets face it should you show an interest, which at the moment you are not, he will be your player. If however you were interested you would of gone public after the stories a few days ago. especially to appease the fans after a trophyless season and not landing your top managerial targets. You would be moving quickly to tie this up, City are closer to this deal than many people realise.
  8. Lets face it, he wasnt going to call him a c**t and say, "no I hope our paths never cross again." Whatever happens this one has a long way to go yet. 9. In my opinion. and its not just because Im hoping he signs for City, but I've been reading all the stories for quite a few months, from all over Europe. The Suns piece today is a rehash of the sky sports story from last week. They have just re ordered the quote about Milan and Chelsea still being interested. If the Sun as they claim, have a hot line to Roberto De Assis then why have they not used it while our representatives have been out there for the last week or is that they only cover Chelsea stories now? Seems like a lot of bollocks to be honest. None of the papers in Spain or Brazil have any news about him being approached by yourselves. I believe them over the hacks in this country.
  10. Yeh cheers, I think Hughes is already doing a good job. He came in with a lot of PR but has just got his head down and onto business. Apparently the delay we are having with Jo is down to Hughes feeling we could get better for our money. Would you of liked Hughes at Chelsea? Do you believe Scolari was your first choice, over Ancelotti and Hughes? At city we thought Scolari was our first choice, but the majority had a lot of doubts about his credentials. Personally I would of enjoyed him at City but don't think he would of been right for us ultimatly, right now we need some strength and determination which I think Hughes will bring to the club. You have a great spine and team spirit that will see you fight right to the end so Scolari can build on that with the flair that you all want to see. There was something very wrong with City last year, not because of Thaksin, but things were evidentlly going wrong on the pitch long before Thaksin got restless. If you compare Stuart Pearces first 38 games to Svens. Pearce actually managed more points and one more win than Sven. It kind of puts it into perspective what Pearce achieved on very little money. I know a couple of months is a long time in Football but do you think that this is still the feeling at the top at Chelsea? http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008 ... 170633.htm
  11. As we are finding out its not just a case of getting the player signed though. It seems like a long road to eventually get him. THE main stumbling block are his Nike connections. The trump card we do have over you is that we are offering Nike naming rights to our stadium and kit sponsor from 09/10. We also have Nikes ex chief executive Garry Cook brokering the deal. Ive heard Nike are pressuring him to sign for us due to the above. No doubt you are a bigger club results wise. Personally I loved Mourinho, and the image of him running down the touchline in front of bacon face with his hands aloft during his Porto time are forever burnt in my memory. But fanbase wise and attendance wise were pretty close. I think there are a few plusses to our side of the deal but lets face it Scolari is bigger than all the afformentioned. The sun and sky articles today are just re hashes of the story from last week though. I think you will have bigger priorities than Ronaldinho and thats where im hoping we sneak in but im not getting my hopes to high. Also if it the reported 200k a week figures are true then its going to play havock with your pay structure. Arent Ballack, Terry and Shevchenko all on equal parity contracts so they would automatically go up to the same? I think it could cause you some trouble with Lampard as well.
  12. Hello. Man City supporter in peace here. Just wondered what you all reckon will happen with Ronaldinho? You lot have had a long standing interest in the guy in comparison with us and the general feeling for most of our fans is that is just a pipe dream to believe we could sign him. Obviously the inevitbale link with Scolari has got the papers doing their usual 2+2=5 trick but do you think its close to the mark? All week We've been digging around the internet trying to find some sort of news on the deal. I for one would love to see Ronaldinho playing for City as ludicrous as it might sound. Yesterday there was a story from spain claiming we had agreement from Roberto De Assis but Im sure that could be broken very quickly if you come calling. I honestly believed we would sign him but its now very obvious that if you were to so much as bat an eyelid at him we'l be forgotten in an instant and rightly so considering the gulf between our two teams. On a side not the papers seem to have had us linked with the same managersfor the last few months. Scolari and Hughes being the main two. Do you think you got the right man for the job? Obviously for us Hughes being an ex rag is a bit difficult to take, but I think the guy will do well with us.
