Have to agree there, for pure talent it has to be barca. If we went toe to toe with barca they would rip us apart, as what happened to man u, but we have the players to nullify them. The best team in the world wins the champions league!

robben, duff, ronaldo, overmars, beckham, ljungberg, giggs, kanchelskis... All these players have been involved in title winning teams, they gave their teams a cutting edge against the closest rivals. If it wasnt for ronaldo we would have another 1 if not 2 titles in the bag. Our midfield is the second strongest in europe and proved this against the best. Our defence is rock solid with a solid keeper. We need wingers who can cross and take on defenders AND beat them. Im delighted with the zhirkov signing and hope he's played in an advanced role. I just think for the last few seasons we've been kidding ourselves with kalou (one for the future..) and malouda even though he played a blinder at the back end of last season. Leave pirlo on the heap and lets concentrate on getting a touch line hugger who can burn evra and clichy. rant over!

was reading about this story and seeing it on sky sports news and it wrecked my head so much i had to see what other chelsea fans had to say about this. the ONLY way this signing can make sense is if we got ribery, which i think is doubtful. why would we table an offer to see the scousers increase theres, ridiculous. can you imagine glen johnson facing messi? bos did a job on him when he was called upon in the nou camp. he has the pace and the technique. il be gutted if he went. we need defenders that are proven at the highest level, johnson isn't. glen is a handy player but is prone to at mistake or two. he looks good in a mediocre pompey team, put back into our team, he'll look mediocre. thats crazy money to pay for him also.
