With the rumoured departure of JT at the end of this season (please don't let this be so), we will truly have a changing of the guard. I dreaded the day we were without Frankie Lamps and JT, but that day looks like it is near. I've had many a debate with friends over the years about the importance of an English spine, and I firmly believe that is needed. It takes a special kind of foreign player to be able to take that role - and you don't find them very often. So, who will step into the shoes of our English leader? In house, I have some hopes for the likes of RLC, Izzy Brown, and to a certain extent Solanke. They are some of the most exciting young English players to come through the Chelsea ranks. But they are also not quite the same leaders JT was at their age. Still, I think they will be very important to our club for the next 10 years. What about from outside the club? John Stones is highly coveted, and I have a feeling we are not going to be able to have the same pull as City, if they really want him. I'd make him our priority signing - he will grow into a very important role for us and it is a position where we need enforcements. Three or four young English players in and around the starting squad will, for me, be very important. Cheers, Butch

Adrian Mutu was a bit of a disappointment. Robben left too soon. So did Lukaku and KdB, but I was more disappointed in their lack of fight. Mateja Kerman was also a disappointment. Finally, another one I had really high hopes for was the "second Makalele" - even looked a bit like him. Ended up at Real Madrid even! But never hit the heights at Chelsea though. Cheers, Butch
