I’m not even sure at his best he was ever at JT’s level. JT ticked so many boxes…great defender, leader, captain, passer of a ball, threat from set pieces. If he’d had his chelsea career in a Liverpool shirt the hype would have been insane. Van Dijk certainly played at a high level but his mistakes never get highlighted, which has contributed to a ridiculous amount of hype. I rate Kompany above him let alone JT.

While the level of Chelsea’s drop is bad, they have more justification for it than Liverpool given all the upheaval. Liverpool’s only argument seems to be the amount of games they played last season catching up with them…chelsea played the same amount, but obviously had going through sanctions, change of owner, coach, lots of staff and players too.

Utd in the title race…given I have to choose cos chelsea have been crap, think they’re my first choice option to win it, followed by city and then Newcastle….certainly couldn’t stomach the Arse fans, who wanted arteta sacked just eight months ago.
