I just do not get all the negative stuff about Rooney. You guys simply do not get Jose Mourinho as I do. Van Persie's move from Arsenal won them the league and in turn damaged Arsenal's chances in every competition last season. Jose knows we lack a bit of English grit in our team. He also knows signing Rooney will damage United and improve our chances of regaining the Premiership.

Rooney should be welcomed to Chelsea as any other player is. It would be an absolute disgrace if he got the Benetiz treatment. I feel this deal is 80 per cent certain but United will seek a replacement first. Given the deeper role he had under Ferguson I believe the 25 million offer for Fabregas was just that. Mourinho wants him, let us be clear about that. it would also be possible to accommodate him in a Chelsea line up with Lukaku. Mark Hughes came down and was brilliant for us. At say 28 million and 27 this could be a deal just as good if not better. I hated Rooney in a Manc shirt but admired him in the blue of Everton - he will be a success in the blue of Chelsea if our 'so called' fans give him a chance.

This is typical Jose, a few comments in the press and encouraging his players to sing his praises. Just seen the latest 'sky feed' it surely means there is no way back for Rooney at United. It will be hard but welcome Chelsea's new Number 10 - betting patterns suggest this to perfection. Hughesy was brilliant for us, lets not forget that.

Age wise he like Lewandowski fits the bill. We were never interested in any other striker in my opinion and I believe only Rooney will turn Jose's head. If not I fully expect Lukaku, Torres, Ba and Shurrle/Moses in emergencies to be challenging for the 'one target man up front' slot that is Jose's trademark.
