Suits mean business?

Featured Replies

Hi

Is it just me or was yesterday the first time the team have worn suits after the game? Did anyone see the team arrive and how they were dressed. Surely getting the lads suited and booted impresses on them that they are there to do a professional job, it has to be better than the usual track suits and headphones.

I'm wondering if a good old bit of formal managing has happened, has our new manager shaken things up, maybe installed a little bit pride as well as professionalism. Does anyone else think it shows you mean business when the team turn up looking like they mean business and not simply on school day trip.

The performance would suggest it does!

Or am I suddenly just old?

Yes Hiddink insisted on suits for match days, the team turned up with them on, and almost every player had earphones in their ears, so obviously he didnt outlaw the iPods.

Didn't see that. I think it is just a small thing but it shows Hiddink means business  and it shows that he has made some changes. It shows the changes to the players and the fans.

He knows he can't change everything in just a short period of time but just changing small things makes the players feel that they also only need to do just little bit better to win games. I know it might sound naive but players tend to be superstitious.

I wonder if Hiddink made them listen Bryan Adams - We're gonna win or some dutch evergreens.

I think it is a very positive step. If you look at the team that arrived to the team that arrived at old Trafford in tracksuits there was a noticeable difference in attitude. Not saying suits were a major part of this but do feel they set the tone.

A friend of mine runs a hotel in the Midlands often used by Premiership teams he can’t speak highly enough of a Manchester team that arrives suited and booted , all the players and back room staff are polite and courteous to all the hotel staff , the players stay in there rooms and are no bother to anyone during there visit

Compared to a team from the south coast who would take full advantage of a full open bar until 5am prior match day , hookers shipped in if required and one ex England international demanding his room was changed 6 times as he didn’t like the view , pillows , bathroom ………

Horses for courses but you can work out which management style delivered trophies ….
