TheWestwayWonder Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Sorry, this is probably a load of bollocks, but I wanted to pass it around because it pissed me off royally. We should tell Drogba to muzzle this idiot or fire him. I like how he "claims to represent Drogba". Does he, or not? He sounds like the second coming of Pini Zhavi, rocking the boat at this club for his own personal gain. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...and&cc=5901 Didier Drogba has said that he wants to stay at Chelsea when his contract expires next season. The striker, back to his best form under new interim coach Guus Hiddink, is determined to remain at Stamford Bridge and wants to sign another deal. The Ivory Coast international, who has scored twice since Hiddink took control of the side from sacked Brazilian coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, said: ''Because of my knee problems and what happened with the manager, I really want to make it clear again that I'm staying here. ''I have worked really hard in training but the good thing is I have had the support of the players and people like Ray Wilkins.'' Ok, he wants to stay. We have heard every which opinion from him, and if he plays like he means it then why not? Now, get ready to be pissed Meanwhile, an agent claiming to represent Drogba, Thierno Seydi, says Scolari was axed by the club because of a personality clash with the striker.Scolari was sacked three weeks ago amid allegations that the club's owner Roman Abramovich had met Drogba, goalkeeper Petr Cech and midfielder Michael Ballack at the club's Cobham training ground. Drogba strenuously denies having anything to do with Scolari's departure and a club spokesman said: ''The comments made are totally ill-informed and are not worthy of a response beyond that.'' However, Seydi claimed: ''The fact that he was told to sit on the bench had nothing to do with sport, it was just a problem between two men that couldn't work together. ''One had to go and Chelsea decided to part ways with Scolari. They literally said that Didier made history at the club, that he could still bring a lot to the team, so they decided to let the coach go and to keep Didier.'' Seydi also revealed just how keen Chelsea have been to keep the striker who joined the Blues for £24m from Marseille in 2004. He claimed the Blues had already turned down £18m bids from Inter Milan and Manchester City. ''Since last year, there have been two firm offers: Inter and Manchester City, who offered me a golden deal,'' Seydi told Senegal newspaper L'Observateur. ''I was quite ready for it, Didier also, but the Chelsea board said 'no'. They turned down 20m euros for a 30-year-old. ''That's proof of the confidence they have in Didier. And the president was right to keep Didier, because since he has come back, Chelsea are winning.'' Well, my blood was boiling reading that second half but I wont say any more than that. If DD really intends to stay, I hope he dumps this gobby jackass in used car lot where he found him. agents.......
Plavi26 Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 He is Drogba's manager, but it's kind of intresting that the man is saying he never said that and was surprised that the Sunday Mirror has picked of those comments, because he never spoke of Drogba's future recently to the press. I found that infromation on the on an African news website, so it's in French: SOURCE
TheWestwayWonder Posted March 5, 2009 Author Posted March 5, 2009 Good find, Space, but I dont speak French. Is he claiming its an old quote, or taken out of context/fabricated? Because if its the latter, the club should be considering legal action. Or Drogba should. It paints an image of this club that the superstar players rule the roost. What kind of self respecting boss would come to this club knowing one word with the owner by a big name star, and you could be on the outs? And it makes Drogba sound like the definition of a coach killer. Eitherway, its impact on how the club is percieved is harmful beyond the usual anti-Chelsea press b.s. and pissed me off far more.

He admits that Chelsea have turned down offers from Man. City and AC Milan, but he says that he didn't comment to the press about it, and that Drobga is looking to complete his contract at Chelsea. Mind you, I just realised that the article is from july 2008  but, I found a good number of websites giving me that same story like the one you posted but dated to july, septembre, decembre, and it's always the same thing. This is one of the more recent ones: Source. At this stage, like you both said, I believe it's just the press having a go at us again, nothing unusual.
evissy Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Doesn't the agent get the most money when a transfer happens to his client? They get a percentage of that whole transfer sum(?). That is why I don't believe anything that someone's agent have said since they have too much in stake in these transfers. They probably suggest their clients a transfer although there is no need. 'Barca is interested in you, I know Henry's agent well would you like to swap teams with him. I'll make the arrangements'. And the agents get richer...
Blue Sun Tzu Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Good find, Space, but I dont speak French. do you let the funky music do the talking?!
dkw Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 do you let the funky music do the talking?! i dont know why but i nearly spat my coffee out when i read that. made me laugh a lot....
TheWestwayWonder Posted March 9, 2009 Author Posted March 9, 2009 dkw, you are probably right about this one, especially if it is a recycled story. An effecient, winning team is no fun to the press so they have to find something to unsettle. BST, I didnt get that one until I looked it up. Very funny, but I have to question your taste in music :D
