Chelsea, Manure and Liverpool

After I received the news of Manure accepting a bid for Ronaldo at school today, it plucked up a discussion/arguement about the difference between Chelsea, Liverpool and Manure.

As I was ganged up on in the Common Room, me being the only Chelsea fan in lower six, saying that Chelsea have no team players other than JT. Now I'm sorry, but do Lampard, Essien and Cech not come into the equation? And believe it or not, I think Drogba comes into that bracket too. Yes, he likes to do things that help himself, but he always gives his all to help the cause when playing. And everyone else (mostly Scousers and Mancs) was saying how their team have more team players. Apparently we have a team of individuals, not a team.

Liverpool - let's face it, everyone knows it, without Torres, Mascherano and Gerrard in their team, they simply can't function. Their drive is gone, no attacking prowess at all. How can they accuse us of having a team of individuals when Liverpool simply don't have a team at all without those 3 players. Stupid.

Manure - We were all agreed on this side though (well most of us). Ronaldo is not a team player at all. Everything he does is for his own benefit, rather than the teams. But fair play to them, they are a team. They work together week in week out and it's very, very impressive indeed. Oh, up pops, you guessed it, a Scouser! What does he say? Ohh, without Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Van Der Sar, Carrick, Scholes, Giggs + Rooney, they wouldn't be a team anymore. Err, that's 8 of their starting line up, mate. You can't make that point when your side has 3. And besides, Manure have the depth to compete on all fronts with a number of different players, and already have a few top youngsters coming up. How many homegrown Liverpool players have you seen making a sub appearance this season?

And apparently, Chelsea have the most violent fans in the Premiership. Who said this? You're right again! A scouser. Have you ever seen a Chelsea fan kill 4 Nigerians? Have you ever seen Chelsea cause such a riot that hundreds of people were killed? 'Cause I've never heard anything like this.

Apologies, but this was just a way for you to see how single-minded other football fans can be. Did I say football fans? I meant Scousers. How they can only ever see the good in their side and it seems that they can do no wrong.

Rant over.

Well yes of course. Chelsea fans are all either violent, racist psychopaths or prawn sandwich munchers called Jeremy and Jemimah. Or Tarquin.

Everyone knows that.

If we are talking fans, we all have bad ones. My last game was at Old sh*tford and I almost got killed. Liverpool fans were not any better. I have also heard horror stories about being around us.

sh*t happens

As for finances, I don't see much of a difference between any of us, I really don't. If Liverpool wasn't f**ked financially, they would be spending like crazy, imo

A pretty big difference if you ask me!

Well no, I don't think there is any difference because I wasn't saying our spending was similar...just stating we all would be spending in high, high amounts if we could....which I think all 3 of us do do in some instances or would do if we had some more $$$$

Some have that ability, others somewhat do, others don't

Truthfully, I'm not sure if Drogba's a team player or not. I like him but I think maybe he isn't. I think he gives his all on the field for his own benefit, not the team's. His whining in the press and intermittent expression of his desire to leave points to a guy who isn't totally dedicated to his club. But at the same time, he has such a remarkable determination to win on the field that he is a team player on the pitch and will do whatever he can to win. I think his expression of disgust at the officiating after the second leg against Barca was genuine. I also think the nonsense he says in the press is genuine. Basically, I think that he cares but not necessarily more about the team than about himself. He's hardly akin to someone like Ronaldo, though.

As for other teams' fans and this crap about us not having team players...

How about Anelka, playing out of position to accommodate Drogba because he knows the team is better off with both in the lineup. How many players leading the Premiership in scoring would gladly make a change like that?

How about Essien, with all of the offensive flair in the world playing a defensive role. The guy could score 15 goals a year as an AM and yet he has a complete game. I've seen him block more balls with his face to prevent goals than I've seen Ronaldo make tackles.

Our players are no more or less of team players than any other team's. Every team has a few guys that are questionable but I'm thankful we don't have anybody more interested in the way they look than winning.

Now the question is why people still spout off that we have no team players when it's clear that there's no substance to it... I can only answer that a lot of it stems from insecurity. Most teams can't match our collection of talent or results recently. I know this one w**ker that's a Tottenham fan who posts on another message board who I swear gets an erection every time he can type an insult about how Drogba has defamed the game with his outburst or how Abramovich blew way too much money on a transfer. Yet he supports Tottenham for Christ's sake. How else could he insult us? They're garbage and when you're garbage, you can't very well point to results or history to put down a team that isn't. It's all some people have got left.
