Quote:

"And the different tax laws in the two countries means United would have to find an extra 25 per cent on top of anything Real offer Rooney.

In this country he will be taxed at 50 per cent but a move to Spain will cost him just 25 per cent. "

Really?

Suppose that Real are offering 100k

Rooney will get 0.75*100k = 75k after tax

To match Real, United need to offer 150k

Because, Rooney will get 0.5*150k = 75k after tax.

150k is a 50% extra (not 25% extra) from 100k

They've subtracted 25% (tax in Spain) from 50%(tax in England) to arrive at the 25%(the extra they're talking about) figure. That is just lazy.

Why not?

Beacause i dont think manure would sell him for any price other than similar or more than ronaldo's and i dont think rooney would leave them

Lure of becoming a Galactico has changed the minds of many men and Fergie hasn't hesitated to sell if the price has been right. I'm not saying Rooney is as good as gone, but ambitious professionals often must wonder how they would do in other leagues and I wouldn't be surprised if Rooney has thought about or would consider doing.
