I think against lesser opposition he will have the stamina, I doubt it against speedier teams. Where do you think he would fit in? Who do you sacrifice?

I would just like to see him get up more often, he was originally a CAM anyways. Like the cross to Lamps vs Tottenham and the cross to Malouda vs AV where both so inch perfect that despite heavy marking on the receivers, they were easy tap ins

I agree in principle with what your saying, he is an excellent crosser of the ball but playing in an attacking midfield role leaves him vulnerable in getting back to defend, after all that's what midfielders do. A number of times he has been caught up field when we have lost the ball and he has struggled to get back and ends up making a bad tackle to break up play, although it may be justified in some cases.

I believe Zhirkov and Drogba cross better than Ballack, but I honestly dont believe we will see more service from him than what we see right now.

He's definitely able to cross and pass well. But he just isn't the complete package anymore, too many drawbacks to playing him in my opinion. He's too slow, seems to stall the midfield a bit whenever he plays, and despite his obvious quality, is never really as creative as you'd like. It's a shame because I've always admired him as a player, but we've caught the tail end of his prowess and really I don't think there's much hope left for him in the prem. I think he should go to Italy and shine for his last season or two, he'd be much better suited to Serie A.
