Is it correct that both Ivanovic and Boswinga are out of contract at the end of the season?

Anybody else worried about potentially losing either of these guys, especially Brana who wouldn't be short of options and options that might guarrantee him he plays in his preferred position at centre-back.

I can understand the club wanting Boswinga to prove his fitness before putting an offer on the table but surely Ivanovic should have been tied up by now?

I dont think that is possible. There were alot of rumors about Ivan getting a new one last year (back when he was really becoming a regular first teamer) and Bosingwa only signed in 2008. A three year deal at that time seems a little short for a youngish player

If its true that the contracts are expiring soon, then I believe signing Ivan should be one of the top priorities right now. As for Bos, he should prove his fitness again, and if he doesn't play as he used to then I guess that it would mean Bruma's big break.

I think it is the case that both their contracts expire at the end of this season. Both contracts should be renewed as soon as possble. The idea of waiting for Bosingwa to prove his fitness runs the risk of allowing him to leave on a free transfer as he will be able to negotiate with other clubs come January.

According to the club website, Ivan did sign a three and half year deal in January 2008. If he hasnt signed another then I guess his deal would be up.

Also, according to me, Bosingwa needs to pluck his eyebrows. Good lord.

Even if the club are reticient to offer Bosingwa a new deal, I find it hard to believe we would just cut him loose. I could see signing him up to something on less money, letting himself play back into fitness a bit, and then selling him to recoup some of his fee. Remember when Bayern were all over him last summer and wouldnt take no for an answer?

God help me for posting this link but: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1336397/Branislav-Ivanovic-doesnt-want-Chelsea-wide-boy.html

The player's contract with Chelsea still has a year and a half to run,' said agent Joksimovic.

'The club itself is fine, the only problem Ivanovic has is his position, as he prefers to play as a centre back and instead he is often used as a right back.

'We will talk to Chelsea at the appropriate time. If he is offered a new contract and we agree on all aspects then he will sign. But if not, at that point, we will consider the possibility of moving to maybe a great club like Inter. But for now, I repeat, there is absolutely nothing.'

That is probably a recycled quote, but other sources are saying we were close last month. Just pay this man his money. Even if its more than the club want to, get him to sign and then flog him later. We cant afford to lose him at all, but to lose him for nothing would be a disaster.

We can't afford to lose both on a free transfer, especially Invanoic. When it rains at Chelsea, it pours. We can't buy a win at moment, and if we believe everything the media says, we can't even offer a decent contract to keep players.
