Whilst I don't disagree and have appreciated his input, I don't think this has been all that hard to call?? It's been clear all season that Piazon is a cut above for the youth team. He's just special. Obviously others are great too, but the player who comes closest in ability to him is Feruz who hasn't stood out as much, imo

Just watched the awards on Chelsea tv and Gigi and Jason Cundy interviewed Juan Mata and Lucas Piazon after they go their awards and Juan Mata said Lucas will be with the first team next year , hope this will be true.

I'd like to see this lad given a chance in the team, although I agree it's a huge step up to the first team some players would actually thrive on this as there playing with better players around them.

This player I like a lot, he reminds me a little bit of john spencer he never stops running and pressuring defenders and for a small lad he's very strong.

Also quick and can defiantly finish.

He has all the attributes to make it to the top, it's just a matter of whether he applies himself to do so. We have had a lot of special youngsters come and go without making it to the top over the last few years, (credit to the youth development by the way) i.e. Kakuta, Di Santo, Frank Noble (yeah he looks shi* now, but was tipped to be a real prospect when in the youth) and i think it was there application that let them down.
