Wolves at Highbury is probably the best known incident, but I remember quite a few Chelsea helping Fulham out now and then back in the 70's.

One Saturday In the mid-70's quite a few games were called off due to the weather on an FA Cup day. One of the games that went ahead for some reason was Wimbledon v Bath City. Crystal Palace decided to go to Plough Lane and take the Wimbledon on (The Dons were in the Southern League at the time, kind of sums up Palace really). Palace bravely came into the West Bank end, only to find that a fair sized mob of Chelsea were already in there - their bravery ended there and then, and the survivors legged it up to the other end, some of them looking as though they may be contenders for the sprint in the next Olympics.

I'm sure there are plenty of other instances of this kind of thing happening, and I'd love to hear about them!

Alternately, can anyone remember other mobs joining up with Chelsea to help us? We fought side by side with Millwall on quite a few occasions, and I remember a few Rotherham United lads always joined us when we played in Yorkshire.

We had a couple of Arsenal (G) join us at WHL the year the flood lights went out circa 1973? and Ron Harris scored, they were with us on the walk back to Seven Sisters.

I read the title and thought "Ah, a nice upbeat thread, rather than the constant talk of fans fighting etc that we've had lately' - how very depressing.

Also with millwall at spurs in the 70s when all of WHL seemed to be decimated...

Remember chelsea n millwall together chasing MAN U all around euston kings cross area.

Man city with blues when chelsea took bolton .

Remember at sunderland once the spurs leader of the time VIC DONKIN was with chelsea..Actually and shamefully LEADING a mob of Blues..Didnt like the thought of it..(but) hey , he was good..

A few of us chelsea were with sheff weds at notts forest..Climbed over a fence to get to the forest , then quickly climbed back..

I arrived at Stamford Bridge to be told that our game against Burnley in the FA cup had been rained off and so with hundreds of other ended up going to the Arsenal v Wolves game. The police were telling us that that game was also off, but we knew that was untrue as Highbury was the only ground in those days in London with under pitch heating and they were never postponed. Travel on the tube with a load of Chelsea fans who were from Wales (and by the way they were awful singers).

Anyway when we arrived we ended up in the conner of the Clock End. The Wolves fans were near to the centre of the clock end and some of us (myself included) went over and had a chat with them. Both sets of fans were cheering on Wolves although it did not do them much good as they lost and if I remember correctly Malcolm Macdonald scored. Anyway later that evening we were shown of match of the Day twirling our scarves (I think we were singing We all agree super Chelsea are magic or something). The commentator mentioned us going on about visitors from Chelsea. A few days later I was in the Shed for our re-arranged game with Burnley and yes we really did cheer when Burnley finally pulled a goal
