Can someone explain why they made the statue? Seeing as he's one of the best french football players every (possibly the best), one would think that if they made a statue of him it would be something based on a good thing, not something like this.

I know the headbutting is something he'll be remembered by, but that's hardly a reason to make a statue of it.

Exactly. I would have made a statue of his goal for Real Madrid in the CL final 2002. Great goal and it won them the trophy.

Strange thing to be made into a statue, its not like France went on to win the world cup
