July 30, 201312 yr In the UK, we often ask people to name 5 famous Belgians. So ... Jacques Brel, René Magritte and..... Jean Marie Pfaff :goober: Naaah .... Pieter Paul Rubens, Toots Tielemans Wadayasay?
July 30, 201312 yr Author Kevin De Bruyne, Thibaut Courtois, Christian Benteke. All from Genk, my French speaking Scottish soulmate.
July 30, 201312 yr I said FAMOUS, not present day "celebrities" here today and gone tomorrow. So, Adolphe Sax counts, as the designer/inventor of the saxophone, as does the innovative architect Victor Horta, but none of these footballers count. If people have still heard of them in 50 years time, they may count ...
July 30, 201312 yr Eddy Merckx. Only 5? What do you do at school? I plucked the number from the air. But none of your nominees count - they have not yet passed the test of time. P.S. well maybe I'll give you Eddy Merckxx Edited July 30, 201312 yr by moi
July 30, 201312 yr Author Leopold the first! Damm. Do you remember what you learned about Leopold the first, Moi?
July 30, 201312 yr Author Tintin. De smurfen. And very important. Leo Baekeland. No Leo Baekeland. No pleasure things for the ladies.
July 30, 201312 yr Author And beer of course. The guy that invented Belgian Beer. What kind of beer, do you prefer Beerqueen?
July 30, 201312 yr Author Friendly greetings from Genk! Also gone. With the wind. I wish you all a nice evening, Chelsea fans and visitors! Friendly greetings from Genk! ___________________________ The Cristal Arena - Emotions in slow motion
July 30, 201312 yr I'll give you Tintin - though really it should be Hergé - and les Schtroumpfs. Leo Baekeland is good - why would he be a pleasure thing for ladies? He's no hunk! Are there any Belgian hunks you can name? and P.S. Don;t say Jean Claude Van Damme - I have never ever met a woman who fancied him. Edited July 30, 201312 yr by moi
July 30, 201312 yr Author Counts me, myself and I, moi? And Stingray. And ... Uhm. Tomorrow. Have a nice evening, Moi!
July 30, 201312 yr When you say "Tomorrow" do you mean "See you tomorrow"? You have a nice evening too, Krc. But NO, you don't count as a famous Belgian.
July 30, 201312 yr I'm not sure whether I'm going to regret answering......but I usually drink British ale - bitter. My favourite at the mo is Shropshire Gold and London Pride plus Timothy Taylor's Landlord - but I don't suppose you will have heard of them. I also like Belgian beer though - unlike most continental beer it actually has some flavour - so I like Chimay, Hoegardden, Leffe etc. But it's a bit strong to drink too many of!
July 31, 201312 yr Author Friendly greetings from Genk! I thought you ask for a Belgian hunk, Moi! That's a good Belgian list, Beerqueen! A 'donkere Leffe' is a very good choise. An adult beer. And a funny one. With four or five, we speak the same language. Stella. Indeed, BelgradeCFC. Is there a Stella-pub in Belgrade, BelgradeCFC? Dear Mr Abramovich! Dear Mr Mourinho! I'm just a soul, whose intentions are good. So, please, please don't let me be mis understood! But, I want to propose Zakaria Bakkali. This guy is so good! He 's 17 and a real phenomenon. This is the moment, Mr Abramovich and Mr Mourinho. Man U and Man C are interested, but it would be good for Chelsea and the Belgian National Team if he could play and learn, together with his friend Charly Musonda in Chelsea. This guy must wear blue and white. So, if it's possible, Mr Abramovich and Mr Mourinho, please, please, please ... It will be fun! Sincerely Krc-fan (ps. I hope there are no mistakes in my english, Moi. Can you check, please? Thank you.) ___________________________ The Cristal Arena - Emotions in slow motion Edited July 31, 201312 yr by Krc-fan
July 31, 201312 yr While you are at it - include Youri Tielemans. Holding midfielder, 16 and bossed the Anderlecht midfield in the opening game of the season. Maybe even a bigger talent than Bakkali imo.
July 31, 201312 yr Author Friendly greetings from Genk! Yep. Correct, Stingray. Youri is also a special one. There must be something in our beer! Unbelievable. Our youth. Have you seen Zakaria yesterday, Stingray? I saw many orgasms in Eindhoven. ___________________________ The Cristal Arena - Emotions in slow motion
