falcao groundhog day rumour

Featured Replies

It looks as though diego costa will be a blue next season, despite comments last night from their president, which I believe was him sparing the athletico fans some more heartache.

I'm not completely sold on him personally, but there isn't much available.

There has also been talk of manzukic coming in as well as costa, and today I've read that falcao will be available for around 35m.

Would people be interested in falcao at around that price despite the concerns about fitness?

I wouldn't really want more than 1 big name to come in ahead of Lukaku, but if we were negotiate falcao's price down it would be very tempting.

Mourinho also made some comments that looked he thought falcao was a possibility back in February. This could possibly be a plan he has had for a while.

He could well be another Sheva/Torres - bad injury resulting in a decline in form and confidence.

It may work, may not. We can't really afford to gamble though. Shame because he was everyone's top target until he sold out to Monaco.

It's high risk high reward, maybe if we also had costa and Lukaku, Mourinho could think it's a risk worth taking.

This time last year he was the best striker in the world.

It will be interesting to see how he performs in the World Cup, if shows no after effects of the injury, I'd expect a queue of clubs after his signature. If he is fit he'd be my preferred choice.

If we are keeping Ba then I really hope we have found a way to offload Torres. Otherwise it will likely not be Lukaku, it will be the new signing, Ba and Torres. Which unless the new signing turns out to be the legitimate new Didier Drogba in his prime, is not much of an upgrade on last season.
