The kind of player we need...

Forget fancy footwork, mazey dribbles etc. we have enough players of that ilk, what we need are players who are proven captains, or who have the potential to be. Men who can inspire the team to greater efforts, pick them up when they're down and lead by example.

The lack of these players in your team gives you....Ars**al, loads of talent , no spine.

So on this basis who would you choose to come to the Bridge?

What we are missing is this guy:

As Martin calls him 'the man for the big occassion.'

The kind of leader who could be relied on to create a moment that would win you the game. Every team who has won the Premier League has had one of them: Cantona, Shearer, van Nistelrooy, Henry, Drogba, Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Aguero, RVP.

They give other players the confidence that they will score. That is an immensely powerful thing.

We were lucky enough in our prime to have Drogba and Lampard who could do that. Now we have neither. My concern is that there isn't the kind of player available who can do that. Maybe Costa can who knows. But make no mistake that is the missing element.

Agreed. But these players often grow into that sort of role as their stature rises within a team. Hazard, as an example, doesn't have that just yet. In fact the transfer policy of the club over the last 3 seasons has a lot to do with it. That's why it's no surprise to see the club linked with more experienced heads - Fabregas/Costa/Lavezzi/Tiago/Felipe Luis. We have enough young talent to create Arsenal 2.0, but what we truly need, as Jose said, is...BALLS.
