Hello Chelsea fans,

 

as already stated above, I'm not really a new signing as I registered (quickly checks profile) almost exactly 7 years ago (it will be exactly 7 years on Thursday  ).  Having lurked for all this time, I thought it was about time I came out of the closet (so as to speak).

 

I've been a Chelsea fan since about 1967.  Why Chelsea? Possibly because they play in blue - which is quite important as a 4 year old!  The first time I saw Chelsea live was the 1972 League Cup final (I lived in Jersey so it wasn't easy to get to games) when we lost 2-1 to Stoke - I wasn't a very happy bunny after that one (according to my father). My favourite player in those days was Charlie Cooke.

 

When I started work in 1984, I lived in Surrey and quite often went up to the Bridge on Saturday afternoons - if we were playing at home and I wasn't playing myself - in the days when you could just turn up and get tickets at the turnstiles.

 

However I moved to Germany in 1987 and haven't been able to the see Blues very often since then, apart from the odd FA Cup final (Manchester United, Middlesbrough, Aston Villa) and a friendly in Frankfurt a couple of years ago.  However I'm still an avid Chelsea fan and catch them on the television whenever I can.
