How much of a difference does the inclusion/exclusion of one player make to the whole team and system.

Ivanovi? did so much for the club over the years, some class defending and some class goals. Cult hero at the Bridge for sure, i won't remember him for the bad games as there weren't as much as the good one's. Played out of position for most of his Chelsea career and adapted as much as possible. His pace let him down and he was a target for pacey wingers for almost a season and a half, Jose refused to drop him and Conte finally did it. I have an opinion that no matter what your name is or club stature, if you don't perform you should be dropped. Truth to be told i still think he would be an ok cover for the CB's with this formation three in the back. Also he is still a fairly good player and if i was him i would look for a new club, either that or play the occasional cup game and come in as a late sub when we are winning.

I respect IVA for all that he has done. But disagree strongly with the last part of your post.

This is actually where the likes of Tomori, Clarke-Salter should come in. Cup games and sub appearances should be for youth players who have the potential of something special instead of players who can barely add value to the squad.

Next season we will have:

RWB: Moses,Aina (azpi as the 3rd option)

CB: DL, Zouma, Andreas, GC, Azpi, JT

LWB: Alonso, Ake (while Baba is still on our books).

I hardly think there is a space for iva in the squad.

I agree with you too, i said he could still do a job however i doubt he will remain beyond this season at the club.
