Still alive and ...

Lofty

Recommended Posts

To introduce myself, I've been a Chelsea fan since the late '60s; watched them home and away from around '71 to '86 when a nasty accident kept me off my feet and decimated my future earnings. I managed to get down to the Charity shield v the Scum a few years back but don't go any more, mostly because I'm skint. Whenever any of the local yokels (or any other scumbag for that matter) accuses me of being a glory hunter, I show them the CFC tattoos on my arms, both of which are well over 30 years old. Some people might even remember me from the old Shed and North Stand days - yes I was that drunken nutter. And here I am, still alive, if not exactly well.

Welcome on board mate.

You're not the same Lofty that used to knock around with the Northolt/Ruislip crew in the late 70's early 80's are you ? With The Twins, Bogsy, Chris White etc ?

Well I lived around Hillingdon & Uxbridge so I could well be. At one time we had our own little mob going, and at home games we used to drink in the Malsters and in the Weavers, further up Farm Lane. Not too good with names, especially after all this time, but I remember Charlie Hunter from Southall used to run a coach, and Chris, tall bloke - I think he was from Greenford, Vaughan from South Ruislip.

Nice to be here, and thanks, I'll check the links out later.

Welcome Lofty.

bit confused about the fact that both your arms are over 30 years old.

they would have to be, wouldnt they?

oldboy.gif we all miss the old days.

Can't argue with you there ... there was a rumour that one of my arms was bionic ... sadly untrue. I'm still stuck with the ones I was born with. Arms that is. The tattoos came a little later.

You know what they say, nostalgia ain't what it used to be.
