January 21, 20188 yr The key for me was Hazard and William at their best, making it impossible for Brighton to isolate a single skilful player, which has been happening with Hazard in particular in recent matches. Michy also contributed but Morata should be our numero uno as I'm sure he'll get back scoring.

In the first 20 mins we were far more direct passing from back to front, bypassing midfield and relying on the close control from Hazard and Willian under pressure. Those players could then combine with Michy to try and create. This worked well and I think we were more creative than we have been in weeks. It did help that Hazard and Willian scored when recently we have been missing our half chances. We could then sit back and hit them on the counter. More and more I also think early goals are crucial for us. We started with great intensity yesterday and then could relax more. I still think we struggled in large parts of the game though. Moving the ball from defence to midfield was a problem and wing backs still found themselves isolated going forward (especially Alonso, he couldn't get forward all game) the midfield struggled to move it forward too. Once it got to the front 3, we were dangerous and we took our chances, but Brighton had a lot more of the ball in the game than they should have had. In the 2nd half, we pretty much became a counter attacking side again, we shouldn't have to rely on that against Brighton.
