December 21, 20187 yr Sarri on Drinkwater "He's suitable for a midfield with two midfielders. With three he is not really a central midfielder, he's not suitable to play centre right or centre left. For him, the problem is only my football." Anybody able to give a tactical analysis on this comment?
December 21, 20187 yr I'm assuming Sarri thinks he's not technical enough to play Jorginho's role, not mobile enough to play Kante's role and not creative enough to play on the left hand side. At least in Sarri's system, these three players have to have special features in order for his system to work. A two man midfield requires two well rounded (read: not necessarily specialists) midfield players to work, thus fitting Drinkwater better. Anyway, I think Sarri is somewhat kind here. The honest truth is probably that Drinkwater never is Chelsea material, and never was. Edited December 21, 20187 yr by opinionsarelike
