A bit of steam

Recommended Posts

One of the great things about this site is , we all get the opportunity to let off a bit of steam . Not everybody will agree with comments or opinions , but at least you know your in good company . So with that in mind , its get it off your chest time.

Just after 3.00pm today i got the results of both games . Down , disappointed and felt sh*t .

After a lot of thinking and weighing up our season , i realised we blew it not today , but earlier on in the season . Away to Boro, Xmas period , Newcastle etc etc . Injuries had a huge effect and the fact we didnt actually get our noses in front and THEN blown it , I calmed down . Ok, some still think its still up for grabs , maybe so, i just dont share your optimisim , sorry , but i hope im proved wrong .

Tonight on the way to work my mind started its usual sh*t of worst case senarios .

I just cant get Tuesday out of my mind and after losing Riccy im now thinking all sorts .I got to work , im supposed to be the life and soul of the club but i just couldn't concentrate or get myself motivated . In other words , i had no interest .

This game is wrecking my weekend , ok , its only a f****ng weekend and after all, its only my living icon_lol.gif

When we were going for our 1st title i was in a similar situation , same with last year , then the F.A. Cup .

Thinking it was just a phase and telling myself , get a grip of yourself i thought , come on man , its not life and death so i promised myself i'd look at it all in a different way in future . Its only football . Easier said than done really .

Anxious about Tuesday is an understatement . Its like when you book you holiday , then count the days until you go but everything drags in . That it.

Feeling the way i do now, i just hope its all worth it . Getting myself into a state , thinking of nothing else , refusing to read newspapers , even turning off TV adds for Tuesdays big encounter . Im trying to deflect any attention associated with the game away. Just so i can focus properly and stop farking worrying .

So there , i had to say something and this was the best place to do it . Anybody else would think im crazy .

Jesus , what do i sound like here , if any of my family saw me writing this , it'd be off to a farm that caters for those with disfunctional cells .

My thoughts exactly, though I cannot help but think yesterday's game was a huge disappointment, with an injury-ravaged ManU coming back from two goals down to win on the road, and with a remarkably-uninjured-Chelsea team not being able to overcome Bolton (and with Bolton playing with a depleted squad at that!). Glad I went and played golf with the old lady yesterday, and did not have to suffer through the Chelsea game in real time.

Of course it will, sit back, relax and enjoy, for we are still riding high.

We are all nervous, but just think back a few years, we couldn't of dreamed of being in this situation. We have won the Carling, in the final of the FA, still trying to push Man.U in the league, and lastly, a Champions league semi, bloody hell, we should think ourselves lucky.

I still understand what clubhappy is saying though, the nervous anticipation, which only gets worse as kick-off approaches, the nagging doubts in your head. I want us to win as much as anyone, but I want us to win well, with style. If we sit back, we could be in big trouble, the last thing we need is to give the scousers an early head of steam. We need a big game from the boys tonight, no missed chances, no mistakes, its there for the taking if we only have the heart and more importantly, the desire.
