Phillip got a reaction from El regreso in Marc CucurellaTo blame him for the second goal is criminal imo. The position was totally non-threatening by the spurs player after his slip, and this cucu’s slip was a nothing burger basically. Even for the first goal there were plenty of other players who could have stopped that goal. This is a joke to make him the scapegoat in those goals.

Phillip reacted to Nibs in Welcome To Chelsea Thiago Silva *Official*Silva is right up there in the list of my favourite ever CFC players. To be playing at that level when he will be 40 in September is truly astounding. To think he joined us when Lamps was manager, was then re-united with Tuchel, won the CL & Club World Cup, only to see Tuchel sacked and then played under Potter, Lamps again and now Pochettino. During that we had the whole Abramovic saga and new owners and he would have been forgiven in thinking he had joined a complete car-crash of a football club and should have jumped ship. But no, he clearly Loves Chelsea and is always last off the pitch after applauding the supporters.
The guy has been a model pro and a brilliant defender. I have never seen another defender read the game as well as Silva does. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch him ply his trade in Chelsea Blue and I'm gonna miss him big time.

Phillip reacted to olderschoolcfc in Nicolas Jackson - strikerI hope they develop a ton faster than that... A few responsible grown up signings, made between board and manager, for a little more craft and guile would go a long way with this squad.
I've defended Sterling on here, think he's been really unlucky at times in our shirt, but he does need to up his game because currently Mr Big.Game.Player (Palmer) is ahead of him in the starting 11 for us and England.
Chelsea of old was a very special time to be a fan. Pre and post Roman as we moved up the gears into big club territory. If we never have that period of success again, the memories are irreplaceable from it, but, they'll come again, perhaps sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed. In the mean time, just going to enjoy being mediocre again where results against the top sides are memorable wins and cup runs give meaning to a weekend. Chelsea of old will turn into Chelsea anew. Aint that the thrilling part of being a long term fan?

Phillip reacted to abister1 in Mason MountI like Mount as a player. He has his good sides, very good sides actually but based on past two seasons I'd say he wasn't in a strong negotiating position.
You're only as good as your last game, until you become a legend and he hadn't attained that status yet in my opinion. I liked that he was one of the few in the team that when I saw shooting from distance I was certain would hit target or come close and that was great because we didn't have them anymore like we used to á lá Ballack, Essien, Lamps, Alex, RDM, Drogs, Hassle to name a few.
He also is great at hold up play, ball to feet, dribbling and taking players on, with a good eye for a pass so I do appreciate his positives.
Players should be allowed to move when they want to and if no longer having the passion to play for you they will be underwhelming and that could also be why he hasn't been to great past couple of seasons. If he feels short changed contractually then he will not have the fire in him and better to get rid than hang on to. Also financially it is a move that has made sense for him as well as the club so won't cry about it.
The new owners have a different vision for the club than we have had and the jury is still out if it's the right one. At the moment though it is obvious they are bent on gutting the club and restarting so the affiliations and connections we have as fans mean nothing to them and I'd argue if they have gutted the club on the inside already (management, supporting staff behind the scenes) already, it makes sense they will do it on the outside as well (the actual team) as then there is no "bad blood" left for their new people brought in to deal with. Clean slate if you like.
I've never felt so disconnected to the team but the good thing is in this day and age where football is a product and doesn't even try to pretend it's anything else, it is a bit easier to deal with looking at it from that perspective and also makes the memories built from days of yore even better.

Phillip reacted to The Brit in Arsenal v Chelsea (PL) Tue 2nd May 2023 20:00 GMTYou know the thing that makes me most angry/sad about this season is that I no longer look forward to the games. Chelsea have actually made me not care about watching Chelsea. This is a first for me, in all the years I’ve supported them (since the early 80s). Yeah we’ve been sh*t before but we knew we were sh*t and had the budget to show for it.
but those teams would play with more passion, provide more entertainment (on occasion) than this sorry bunch who gave up months ago.
I will of course tune in tonight but it will be out of hope, rather than expectation, that they put in a display worthy of the shirt.
Chelsea is usually the thing you look forward to in your week, to break up the monotony of every day life. Right now it is actually more enjoyable when they’re not in action (as has been the case the last two weekends) because you get a break from the disappointment and feeling of being let down time and time again.
