Edouard Mendy: 8, so clam and tidy in goal, his save in the first half saved us the game. Good in the air, was ready for everything. MOTM.

 

Reece James: 7 , big improvement in his defensive ability. Put a good performance, was solid on his position.

Thiago Silva: 7, looked good in the center of our defense, good passing ability in the defensive third. One error, but overall was very good.

Kurt Zouma: 6.5, wasn't good enough when the ball was on his feet, but defensively he was good enough, cleared the air, kept Sevilla's attackers away.

Ben Chilwell: 7, had few difficulties to show his attacking ability due to Sevilla's tactic, but did well in his defensive duty. 

 

Jorginho: 5, couldn't really put his football, the possession was usually going backwards and his vision didn't really show up. Didn't affect on the game defensively as well.

N'Golo Kanté:  6, in the first half he struggled a lot, especially when he had the ball in his feet. In the second half he was better, helped the defense a lot and was there for tackling.

 

Christian Puli?i?: 5, not a good performance, he played most of the game on the right side and he struggled a lot. In the left wing he was more active but still couldn't show a lot.

Kai Havertz: 4, poor performance, hasn't added anything to our creativity in the attack/counter attacks. He still has a lot to prove.

Mason Mount: 4, poor performance, he was outplayed by Sevilla players. He's simply not a winger.

Timo Werner: 5, wasn't good enough, missed two chances but he simply didn't get the assistance, he tried to get down and switch positions and still couldn't affect properly.

 

Hakim Ziyech: 4, he's still not sharp, he had enough minutes to run something but he struggled, we didn't really attack so he focused mostly on defense. Let's hope for a better from him.

Mateo Kovacic: 7, came on and added a lot of energy to the game, he was the only player who tried to run forward with the ball. Involved a lot in the possession and helped the team not to concede.

Tammy Abraham: N/A, I think Lampard could put him in the minute 75 or 80.

Callum Hudson-Odoi: N/A, same as Abraham, he needed to get more minutes.

 

Frank Lampard: 5, our offensive play didn't really work, we weren't creative and danger enough. Abraham and CHO could have more minutes, one moment from them could be a goal because Pulisic and Havertz were clearly out of the game. At least we didn't concede and our defense looked good.

 

Sevilla: 7, can't really say they outplayed us tactically because they failed to score, but they were more attractive on the pitch.

Mendy - 7 - Never looked troubled and made a big save.

James - 7 - Solid defensively.

Silva - 8 - Looked in control for pretty much the whole game. 

Zouma - 4 - On another day, his mistakes would have resulted in a goal conceded.

Chilwell - 7 - A decent defensive performance

Jorginho - 5 - Never really in the game

Kante - 5 - Same as Jorginho.

Pulisic - 5 - He's not a right winger.

Mount - 4 - He's not a left winger and the more he plays there, the worse he gets.

Havertz- 4 - Struggled to hold up the ball and have a positive influence on the attack.

Werner - 5 - We could barely get the ball past the half way line, so it's not surprising that he didn't offer much.

 

Ziyech - 5 - Well off the pace as expected. Needs a bit of time to catch up.

Kovacic - 6 - Was good when he came on, but we still didn't really improve in attack.

Abraham - 5 - Not enough time on the pitch.

Hudson-Odoi - 5 - Same as Abraham.

 

Lampard - 4 - I thought he could have tried something different when it was clear we were struggling with their press. We are the home side and it looked like we were being dominated all over the pitch. By the time he moved Pulisic to left, the game was well out of our control.

Sevilla - 7 - They were the better team on the day. Pressed better, moved the ball better, they just lacked the finish. They will be confident that they can beat us when we play them again.
