One of the true legends of reggae has passed away. Black Ark was responsible for some of the greatest music ever made.

I was lucky enough to see him live (with the Upsetters) in Leicester a few years ago and even well into his seventies the gig was sheer madness:

I’m truly shocked, I didn’t even know he was ill -  a legend among legends, and a massive influence, leaving behind a truly incredible musical legacy.

Going way back, this is possibly the first Upsetters tune I heard, definitely the first one I bought. Proper skinhead reggae:
