July 18, 20242 yr Keeping an eye on transfers of our competitors ahead of the season start. Active: ManU appears to have strengthened Yoro, Ugarte. Villa also seem quite active. Not so much: Arsenal Liverpool and City (save Savio) not done much. Spuds have done surprisingly little. Their need seemed greatest. Based on my guesses I think Liverpool may slip this season and United may strengthen. Spuds may also slip even more because their hold was precarious and they need more talent. Personally I expect us to go higher.
July 19, 20242 yr City - Didn't really need to change much but always good to freshen the squad. Not sold anyone important and signed Savio who should offer an air of uncertainty to teams. Expect them to win it again. Arsenal - Not really done any business other than Raya becoming permanent. Don't really have many sellable assets so can't see them spending too much. Cheaping out over Calafiori so lets see what happens. They'll get top 4 again but can't see them winning much. Still don't have a recognised striker and Arteta keeps going more and more defensive. Wouldn't be surprised to see 6 traditional CB's in their starting 11 next season (Timber/Saliba/Gabriel/White/Rice/Calafiori). Arteta the anti-football terrorist, turned them into everything their fans claimed to hate. Liverpool - Major drop off expected. Post-Klopp comedown, an ageing squad and not really linked to anyone of note. Think they'll struggle for top 6, reminds me of when Fergie left Utd and had the season with Moyes. Spurs - Another team i think will drop off. Postecoglu needs to spend another £200m imo for proper squad depth. Lets wait and see. Aston Villa - expect them to pick up where they left off. Made some clever signings already and only really lost D.Luiz. Top 4 for me, lets see how Europe affects them. Manchester Utd - Different ownership, same old Utd. Top 6 at best for me. Zirkzee doesn't improve them and is a pretty poor football in general. Yoro looks to have the making of a top player but he's 19 and VERY raw, not sure he's what they needed to improve them this season. Also Ten Haag is still manager.
