Can i say that it is Roman's fault if Lamps leave?

We had two supposed world class players in Ballack and Shev who were supposed to lead us to a higher level.

But many of us felt that they did not give us that gilt edge although they did make some contribution.

They were paid the highest salary - 130,000 quids a week- despite not performing better than Terry and Lamps.

Is it Terry or Lamps' fault that they insist on par salary with the two? Maybe if we allow both ( ballack/Shev) to leave,

Terry and Lamps may be persuaded with an improved yet less than 130,000 quids a week?

It is sad that Lamps' contract talk has collapsed and Roman, Kenyon and co are unlikely to up the ante.

Lamps has been a major factor in Chelsea's midfield in the past seasons and no one ( including Ballack and Sidwell) can fill

his dominating gap.

If he leaves, who can fill him? Chelsea has stated that we only want a defender, a midfielder and a striker.

That midfield slot is filled, so will we dig in and pay for another?

I hate to see Lamps leave and this will not be possible had we not cough out blood to buy those two underperformers.

Economically, Lamps should worth at least 30 million quid, so i would feel an exchange with Samuel E'to will at least make his

departure better.

Hopefully, Ballack can grow into that gap next season since he can play a similar role.

whats the matter with what he's said? Lampard hasn't extended his stay so VWAV is not crazy, lamps can still leave...i know its nice to pretend that our boy lamps will never leave but it is very much a possibility -- tabloid stories sometimes come true you know...in the world of football today i would not consider anyone loyal, these days EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED!

To be honest, I don't think it's so much what he's saying as the way he's saying. After all, everyone's entitled to their opinion. But when you base that opinion on News of the World type speculation then you have to expect to be shot down in flames. Or at least have the piss taken out of you. Ever so slightly. Of course. If someone were to speculate that Frank Lampard (sorry but "Lamps" always reminds me of someone out of Dad's Army or an Ealing comedy or something) were to leave to further his ambition, or because he might not be happy with what's offered, then fine, we could discuss it ... but to dress it up in that kind of phraseology simply invites mockery.

I don't know how close the figures quoted in the papers to the actual numbers but if Frank thinks he could get a better deal somewhere else, he's kidding himself.Whether Ballack and Shevchenko deserve to be club top earners is a different matter.

Lamps and Terry are on wages that they would be unlikely to get anywhere else.

I think when push comes to shove, both JT and Lamps will sign.

I think that JT is too much part of Chelsea to ever play for anyone else, and if Lamps leaves, it will not be about the money - as I doubt Barca, Juve or anyone else could match his CURRENT wages - so if he leaves it will be because he wants a new challange in his career.

Arent JT and Lampard in camp with Team England right now? Therefore even if they want sign it right now, they arent able to do it. Both of them have pledged loyalty to the club in public, and havent said anything otherwise, IMO it will be sorted out before the start of the next season.. Just because Roman might not be spending millions on new players this summer(a bit of fine tweaking and some luck with injuries is all we need anyway) does'nt mean we wont keep what we've got. JT and Lamps are the heart beat of the team and everyone from the fans, JM, the boardroom execs and the tabloid hacks know this. Which is why said tabloid hacks are stirring the pot a bit(they hate us).

This rubbish will be churned out untill they both put pen to paper even though the players,club and manager have all said they are staying.

Expecting an unbelievable amount of bo**ocks this summer about how its all over and how Stamford Bridge is falling down etc etc.
