Even Schmeical won a European championship with a very unfancied Denmark team..........lets face it Gerrard was very,very lucky to win a European cup with Liverfool but other than that what has he ever acheived? Dont get me wrong i think he's a very good player, but statistically he falls short of our own Super Frank in terms of performances and appearences for club and goals for club and country plus silverwear so to put him in an all time best ever world 11 line up is utterly ridiculous. Don't get me wrong i'm not suggesting Frank should be anywhere near it either but whoever wrote this is without doubt to put it politely a 'blinkered scouser'.

Do i think we need 'that kind of player to win the champions league'.....yes, i think we need that type of player to complete the squad. I too though see the potential in Kakuta to be that man and hope to god we can bring him through because it would be so much sweeter than buying 1 fo £50m. Maybe thats why the club does'nt feel the need to break the bank at the moment. For me its all about the prem, is the squad good enough to win it and the answer is of course yes. The CL should be treated as a bonus like all cup competitions, once into the KO stage anything can happen so its hard to set your stall out to target a cup. Our squad with a touch of good fortune is capable of winning anything and everything, but when talking about the CL there are 4-5 clubs accross Europe thinking the same and 1 more player is'nt going to change that to much. The only reason i want us to win the CL league is purely because i think it would be ashame having come so close so many times if the current squad did'nt win it 'cos they deserve. Other than that i would'nt give it anymore attention than any other cup.

City have been waiting 35 yrs not 25, a pay as you play deal sounds or something like it ideal......it will certainly make players pull there fingers out.

With all the talk about Man C's spending spree over the last couple of years being mainly about the transfer fee's and the rights and wrongs of the amount of money they are spending on players,for me the staggering statistic is the wage bill. I dont begrudge City anything, although i do think they have over paid on most of those transfers but like ourselves a few years back it comes with the territory when clubs know you are wealthy they try thier luck. But rumours of Ibrahimovic being paid £500k per week and even Yoyo tupee getting £220k pw is just stupid. It used to be all about the transfer fee did'nt it but now the cost of signing the players is nothing compared to the cost of paying the player, City have spent about £250m over the last 2yrs but are committed to a wage bill of over £500m over the next 5yrs. I dont want to make this all about City, like i said i dont begrude them anything. We ourselves have had an astronomical wage bill over the last few years which the club quite rightly have tried to reduce and i know if you want the top players you have to pay the going rate but it looks like we have turned a corner in terms of being held to ransom by players when it comes to new contracts. But lets take it further and have a look away from City and ourselves who because of our owners are exceptions to the rule seeing as we are currently debt free(because of said owners) so we are'nt crippling our clubs paying the wages. The top players at the top clubs earning big money is 1 thing,but £500k, £250k or even £150k are rediculous amounts of money. The knock on effect it has too down the league is dangerous. Also there are players earning fortunes for doing fcuk all, our own Winston Bogarde always springs to mind. Mediocre players at mid-table clubs are earning 70k-80k grand a week. I just heard an stat from a hammer who said that Keiran Dyer is on £60kpw at West Ham, he has played 18 times in 3yrs which works out £520k per game and get this he has never played a full 90mins in fact his 70mins at the weekend was his longest.....starting to make Ibrahimovic deal sound cheap. We worked it out that he earns about £10-£15 for every second he's on the pitch, for a £45 match ticket my mate gets 3 seconds of Keiran Dyer, how can some players look themselves in the eye. With clubs going to the wall in all 4 divisions, with almost every club in the country deep in debt including the very top clubs, with fans feeling more and more alienated from thier clubs and the players something has to be done and quick. Salary caps need to be introduced, not to punish big spending City, not to stop certain clubs from competing but for the good of the game and all who care about it.

I really hope there are 1 or 2 signings in the post before the season kicks off. I know the squad needed an overhaul with many players getting on a bit but i think we are in danger of giving it an underhaul, are we missing a trick this summer? Having done the double we could have really pushed on but as it stands we are heading into the new season with a squad much weeker than the last, especially in terms of experience. This had to happen at some stage i suppose but did it have to happen all at once? With all the panic a few months back about transfer bans etc this summer is passing us by without much activity anyway, in fact if we were to still have the ban we would probably have kept the likes of Ballack,Cole, Deco and Belletti instead of letting them all walk away. Thats a quartet of top quality,experienced internationals which hav'nt been replaced with the possibilty of Riccy to follow i feel its left a gaping hole in the squad and then theres the A Cole sagre. Without as i say 1 or 2 new players i wonder how the kids are going to fill the void? If Roman is insisting on CL success he is going a funny way about it, we were well short in Europe last season and the squad is even less equiped as it stands to do any better. We do have promising yougsters at the club and i'd love nothing more than to see them all come in and shine but does anybody think we are asking to much of them? Our starting 11 still holds it's own on paper but our spine of Terry,Lamps and Drogba are'nt getting any younger and a long term injury to any of these players could kill our season.....god forbid they all get injured. Do we think there will/should be any new signings before the season kicks off. Will the return of injured players like Bosingwa and Essien act as our new signing, has Roman pulled the plug or has this 25 man squad thing forced the club into promoting from within?

There is nothing stopping the CPO changing its mind as far as i know, it was only put in place to safeguard the clubs future so something that would help the club longterm like a bigger ground should'nt be a problem. I still think a bigger ground preferably at the bridge is a must, like i said earliar i'd rather have 80,000 people paying £20 than 40,000 people paying £40(just an example by the way, i'm not saying we need an 80,000 seater stadium). Many people have been priced out of football, many of the people who used to go to games years ago dont go anymore 'cos they cant afford it. I'm quite lucky that i have a decent job and an understanding MRS but i have 3 young sons and i dont know if or how were all going to go in the future. All i know is that the more of something there is the less its likely to cost, thats a basic rule of supply and demand that can be applied to almost anything including tickets to a football match. I'd even go back to terracing, i bet there is about 6000 people paying £50 ahead to sit in the MH lower tier. In the same space you could probably get 15,000 standing(safely of course) all paying £20 ahead. The club technically has gained nothing because the net income is still £300,000 but the diffference is theres another 9000 people all buying programmes, pints, burgers etc so the club are quids in that way. Plus you have opened the door to fans who otherwise are priced out and you have improved the atmosphere in the ground 10 fold. Sounds like a win win to me.

The club has a loyalty point scheme in place on season tickets to stop anybody applying, you need a certain amount of points just to apply,it does'nt mean you'll get one or that any are even available, you can go on a waiting list incase one does become available which is rare. Demand definately exceeds supply and thats just how the club like it so they can charge pretty much what they like, as tear bear boy said gate reciepts these days are a drop in the ocean. I'm thinking more about the fans when saying we need a bigger ground rather than the increase in revenue.

It must be because i want tickets in a particular part of the stadium,(MHupper) 'cos the club have told me i'm on a waiting list. If you do click on the link you'll see that all season tickets are SOLD OUT anywhere in the stadium, including the massively expensive corperate ones. So the point about needing a bigger ground is a good one.

How exactly dont the stats back me up??? Are you looking at the years when the ground was being redevoloped and our capacity was reduced, or do you want to look at our worst ever season when we was in a crumbling stadium in the second division??? The stats are bang on, our all time average is 36,000. Thats over 100 yrs, i like to see a glass half full not empty. Whats the point in saying we did'nt have big crowds in 1982-1983 when people did'nt want to go to games through fear of riots etc. Those are hardly stats to base a future business model off are they? The games are sold out every week, and many could be sold 2-3 times over. There ARE waiting lists at the bridge like Arsenal and Tottenham because having had a season ticket for many years i've tried to get an etra one for the last few years and am on one, it does'nt take a genius to work out we could do with a bigger stadium, and even if worst case scenario we did'nt sell all the tickets for a few of the games it would still be worth it for the others. The fact is the club likes a pint in a quart pot situation so they can charge what they like.

The main problem with relocating is under the chelsea pitch owners scheme if we were to move we could no longer be called chelsea football club. Stamford bridge used to hold 100,000 its only the health and safety brigade that is causing problems with increasing the bridges capacity from its current 42,000. We have always had a big fan base, our all time average is 36,000(better than so called big clubs like Villa,Newcastle,Sunderland,Everton,city etc) and this without any success throughout the years, it was very short sighted of Ken Bates when he redevolped the ground last time. There must be ways around the current restrictions, building a bridge over the tube or train lines running along the side and back of the ground etc would provide other exits, getting permission from residents or the church is the problem though. Saying we dont sell out our tickets is cobblers, we sold out every week before RA came along and still do, we have a season ticket waiting list and over 150,000 members so there is more than enough interest. Ticket pricing on the other hand is another issue, It is way to expensive for most people, i'd rather have 80,000 people paying £20 than 40,000 paying £40, i'm just not sure the club would.....god knows why.

I doubt we were ever interested in half the big name players that we have been linked with, i also dont think we need to make citeh take notice of us.....were the champions and thier playing catch up.

When people accused us of buying the league a few years back i told them money does'nt buy anything other than good players. Man C have a squad packed full of good players now and have as much chance as anybody else IMO. I think they will be 1 of our challengers this year for sure, and i welcome them to the table mainly because i cant really stand Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal fans who think its thier god given right to be winning trophies every year. If we dont win something i'd at this moment rather they did. Let thier fans have some success, its been long enough and they've had enough tough times(like us) to really enjoy any good times they might get. Like i said i'd rather that than some smug Man U fan turning his nose up at winning the Carling Cup. In saying that with money comes pressure and although money does buy good players it does'nt buy success, if so Newcastle would have won something so too Leeds, Real Madrid would dominate spain and Europe so there are no garuntees. All it does is make things very exciting up at Middle Eastlands and very interesting for the rest of the league. Somebody is going to challange for our tittle so whether its City or Utd bring it on i say.

The league table does'nt lie, we are champions and double winners so enjoy it. The scumbag media hate us and try everything in their power to make it harder for us on the pitch, including player witch hunts and even offering cash rewards for teams to score against us(later changed to a charitable donation). If anybody thinks we were lucky then let'em, especially the mancs. I on the other hand look and the silly points we dropped, the players missing through injury and ANC plus the fact it was CA first season at the club and in the country as reasons to be optimistic that even without to much investment next season could be even better in terms of league results. Championes, championes olay olay olay.
