He's trying to give his keeper confidence by comparing him to the best, its quite common and nothing wrong with it to be honest

And Given is probably the second best goalkeeper in the Premiership - certainly top 3 IMO.

He cant get into the Newcastle team at the moment.

He's not as good as Cech who is the best in the world but he has been very good for a long time.

He is also outstanding in internationals and has kept Ireland alive on countless occasions.

Given is undoubtedly one of the better keepers in the Prem, but I'm sure he's not thanking Keane-oh for the endorsement. If ever there was a player being set-up for a fall this is it. When Shay bends down to pick out the 4th Czech attempt to hit the back of the net tonight I'm sure he'll have a quick glance toward his Kapitan and mutter under his breath something like 'gobshoitte'!
