I once saw Hereford play at Hillingdon Borough in the Southern League. I think it was a 2-2 draw, but what was remarkable was that who should be playing for Hereford that day but John Charles,who must have been around 40 at the time. A giant of a man, he was by far the best player on the pitch, if not exactly pacey, and coincidentally also played for Leeds.
