The run in

I just reviewed the remaining fixtures for the top 3 this season and I have to say I think it will be remarkable if Chelsea come out on top this season. This has less to do with how well we might play and more to do with the remaining fixtures for Arsenal and United. They both have to come to Chelsea and play each other one more time but, even if we manage to beat both of them (a great achievement in itself), it is hard to see where they will drop many more points.

We still have to play tough away games like Spurs, Newcastle, Everton, Citeh and I can see us dropping a couple of points in those games. Arsenal and United on the other hand have much easier away games like Wigan, Derby, Bolton etc. Being that we have to make up 7 points on Arsenal (they would win on goal difference) it looks like being an uphill task. Since we lost at United our form has been just as good as the other 2 but we need it to be better if we are to catch them. Unfortunately with the standard they are setting better means almost 100% record for the last 13 games!

Of course I will keep believing but just being realistic. Perhaps the cups and Champions League are our best chance this season.

It's hard to foresee where a top club will drop points. While you would fully expect MU and Gooners beat the likes of Wigan and Bolton, let's not forget that some of these smaller teams will be fighting a desperate relegation battle in the last few weeks of the season and every point could make a difference between staying in the premiership or going down.

Plus injuries, suspensions and a busy schedule may turn things around at any moment. To be honest, i doubt we'll win the league this year, because the top two seem to be in fine form and our terrible luck with injuries/ACN participation has robbed us of a legitimate chance to sustain a serious title run.

However, if we beat scousers on Sunday and get all our key players back, any slip on the part of mancs and Gooners, and we are back in it. It'll take something outstanding, like going unbeaten for the rest of the season to pull this off, but what a sweet sweet comeback it would be icon_wink.gif .

Its been easy for Manure and ars to rest players during the cl break.

I can see some matches going to draws when the cl is back up and wenger and fergy start gambling in the prem with the team.

United all the way. Hate them marginally less than I do the Ars, so would like them to come up trumps come the end of the season.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but realistically our title chances are long gone now. Here's to an Arsenal slump though. 429.gif

I'll be the first to say math wasn't my strong point at school, but even I can look at the league ladder and realize that we can still win the title from here. After all, we'd just won 9 games on the spin in all competitions (before Pompy). And if we go on another run like that (which we can with all our players back) then we can have a barnstorming end to the season.

Not saying it's going to be easy. And for sure we're going to need our fair share of luck to win it. But name me one championship winning team that doesn't need the wind at their back and the luck fairy in the dug out* to win the league? ChElSea.gif

*Not suggesting we have Scissors Anthony sitting next to Grant, you understand... icon_wink.gif

No thats not realistic thats a large slice of non-sense!

If the remainder of the season for Manure and the Arse go the same way as the 1st half then we're going to be pushing it. I hate to say it but I think we need dramatic changes of form from either or 6 to 8 week injuries to major players on either side (or both) and, of course, we must be both of them and hope they play out a goaless draw with 8 red cards!
